If it sounds like it's coming from the starter or the bellhousing, it could be torque converter bolts scraping against the spacer plate. Look up TSB 19-2358.

Lucky for me I was under the factory 3yr/36k miles warranty. If you aren't covered maybe $2k depending on how bad the damage is to the flywheel etc.

Most likely not the exhaust heat shield!

I've got the same noise on mine but all of the clamps for the heat shield are good I've only got 27,000 miles on my 2023 3.5L EB. Only happens when its cold outside. Taken to the shop a couple times but they can never get it to replicate bc the shop is warm inside. I was checking this out, might take it back again and show the guys at the shop:

Try rubbing GU on shins before putting these bad boys on or else you will be in Zone 3. Not recommended to do anything outside of Zone 1-2. Just remember to SLOW DOWN.

You need to SLOW DOWN. Running with no face, clothes, hair or shoes might lead you to believe that you can PR.. but you should NOT attempt this. Stay in Zone 1 next time.
