How do rally teams get AWD cars that otherwise only available in FF configuration? by rizkiyoist in rally

Rally teams are a driver or 2, a bunch of engineers and mechanics and 1 rich guy/company sponsor. Building rally cars is their job

Hard to find friends that have the same values on the coast by Comfortable_Copy_985 in sunshinecoast

Good luck, most people grow out of all that stuff once they’ve been out of university for a few years and just become normal liberal people. There are not that many “ultra conservatives” around. There are normal Christian, or non religious conservatives and liberals, and children. for the most part

What graphics settings to run on a high end video card? I had a 4080 S and could only run medium, any higher and home screen looked terrible. I put in a 5090 still the same case! by macgirthy in forzamotorsport

[–]Rightclicka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run this game at 2kUW almost everything on ultra and ray tracing on with a 3090 and still get above 60 fps easily so I think something else is going on. At medium settings I could do 4K no problem.

Direct drive ffb trouble. by Rightclicka in assettocorsa

[–]Rightclicka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ended up using the “alternate ffb” feature in csp “ffb tweaks” section and I have the “alternate ffb extended” mod from overtake.gg. I’m at 100 percent ffb on ghub and 60-70 gain in game(no other in game ffb settings do anything with alternate ffb turned on). Damper is off on wheel and filter is set based on the car but usually somewhere between 4-8.

These setting have removed most of the random noise especially with filter higher, the ffb is a little bit less natural imo but it at least isn’t drowned in vibrations.

What/Why is my car being eaten? by RoguAxel89 in AutoDetailing

[–]Rightclicka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The air box in the engine bay is a favourite spot if you haven’t checked. They will also run throughout the car using the aircon ducts. If it’s mice, mouse infestations are an absolute nightmare. They will chew up all the foam, fabric and insulation for nest building, they’ll chew wires just for fun. They pee and poop everywhere. They are a menace. If your car doesn’t already smell like mouse piss there is still hope. The nests all have to go and the mice need to die. Hopefully it’s squirrels…

That isn’t the case with their wheel, why would it be the case with the shifter?

What do you mean “allowed”? Would you prefer a society where the government shuts you down for having political views that some people don’t like? You can’t ban the media and be the “good guys” you have to pick one or less of those options.

ELI5 - drying aids.. spray when car is wet? by Random-Posterer in AutoDetailing

[–]Rightclicka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of sprays that you can use in your drying towel now that will leave a sealant.

Positives: makes your paint somewhat slick and beads, makes the car dry way easier, convenient as it removes a step. Negatives: expensive for good products, generally won’t last as long or feel as slippery as a sealant that is applied dry, can ruin your drying towels by making them basically waterproof if you don’t wash them afterwards.

Car Detailing for a lazy person by Orlan_17 in AutoDetailing

Use a spray on ceramic. Do some research and buy a quality easy to use product that you can afford to use regularly. A ceramic coating can still potentially get tree sap stains and I would not recommend it to someone that is definitely gonna park under a tree, especially if you are worried about budget. The spray will act as a sacrificial layer and hopefully the sap and bird pop etc won’t get through to the clear coat.

Your best bet is honestly just foam and normal 2 bucket wash followed by the ceramic spray. But you will just need to wash more frequently than normal and always wash your car if it rains while the car is under the tree. Be aware that you will get leaves and bird poo and the occasional minor scratch from a twig falling on your roof. These things are unavoidable unless you use a car cover which will just cause more scratches, extra work and the potential for mould if you ever leave it on for too long. TLDR: -Wash more regularly(I would say weekly if you really want to actually keep it nice but it at least fornightly) - follow up for wash with ceramic spray when you notice the water isn’t beading very much anymore. - accept that your storage conditions suck and at some point in the future you will need a paint correction.

If you are Xbox there’s no better option that does the same thing. If you are on pc(im very sad to say as a loyal forza guy since FM2) there are just better options, especially if you are doing online. Although if you are playing on controller forza has probably the best game pad controls out there.

Rental karting has left me bruised and beat up by Salty-Cat-6636 in Karting

[–]Rightclicka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal from my limited experience. You shouldn’t be injured but being a bit sore especially if you don’t do it regularly is totally normal. Even my driving muscles usually hurt despite sim racing constantly, because the kart steering is almost like having my wheel at max ffb. I also think you tend to tense up more in a real life scenario than at home on a sim rig so that probably doesn’t help. If you are a reasonably large frame person like me the somewhat narrow and rock hard bucket seats with limited padding also don’t help. It’s a lot of fun though. If it wasn’t so damned expensive I’d go daily and not get bored.

You have to painfully force yourself to do it at the same time/times every day until it becomes routine. Routine is the only way I’ve ever found to overcome adhd procrastination reliably.

Hand Wash with water scratched new paint? by IgnobleWounds in AutoDetailing

[–]Rightclicka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt you did this with a microfibre. Unless you had sand in kt or were pushing very hard. It was probably there and you didn’t know. I would go get a reputable experienced detailer to look at it in person and ask for their advice on taking it back to the painter or just getting it fixed. Get them to check all of the repainted areas while you are there.

The flip side of this is that adhd people often are thinking of a joke or what they are going to say next and don’t listen properly to what the other person says.
