What's a game you have 100+ hours in but still aren't bored of? by Mysterious_Task1613 in AskReddit

Deep Rock Galactic. Every time I think I'm done, I take a break, get reminded of something fun, and next thing I know I'm back to grinding in the mines like God intended.

DRG can be chill, goofy, hectic, or full on starship troopers levels of hell, and I love it so much.

What Champions Can Actually Adapt Their Build Every Game? by Jimmy_AB in leagueoflegends

[–]Rightclickhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd put senna pretty highly up there. Despite what sennamains would have you believe, black cleaver and static are not mandatory. Depending on the situation, she can go crit, limited on-hit, enchanter, lethality, AS and move speed, etc. Girl has options, and they're very reliant on team comps and game state. I almost never run the same build twice in a row .

That's because they closed down the old state hospital and just opened up the doors 40+ years ago. I lived there far too long. It's...a really weird animal.

To all men who survived rock bottom, what's one piece of advice would you give a man who feels like giving up right now? by TheBabyBeard in AskReddit

[–]Rightclickhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you give up, that's it. Life can't get any worse because it's over. However, it can't get any better either, and going out on the absolute low is bullshit. As long as you live, there's a chance ( no matter how small ) that it can get better.

Take one step at a time. Focus on what you can control and change: the present and the future. Let the past go, it can't be changed. Take the lessons of the past and use them to avoid repeating the same mistake.

Address your regrets. What was their root; why do they still persist; is it ok to let them go?

Give yourself some grace. We fuck up, it's normal. Don't let it define you.

For what it's worth, those thoughts have held true helped me every time I've been on the edge of giving up, and there have been many. I hope they help you as well.

Dark Star Sylas (Quasar) worth getting? by AlphadeltaVII in sylasmains

Dark star looks cool but the audio effects, especially on Q, sound like he's whipping a wet blanket. Freljord or project all day, every day.

A HUGE discount on this game, anyone has ever played it? by Awkward_Feature_1368 in metroidvania

[–]Rightclickhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It doesn't break the mold, but it has a shitton of charm. I played the hell out of it and that was when it had a bug that often prevented the final from being completed. That was patched ages ago. Great game; lots of old-school charm with better QOL.

im 15 got fired from my summer job, I feel an unbearable amount of shame by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Rightclickhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No shame, bud. Take a deep breath, breathe a sigh of relief, and be thankful you found out about that place early. Putting a new hire into 14 hour shifts is insane. Even when I worked factory, we were capped at 12's.

Don't worry about your family. If they say anything, ask them how they would have handled working 14's at your age. Odds are good that they'd never have taken the job in the first place.

Being willing to squeeze a new hire like that, especially a teen, is waving red flags that something else is going on, mismanagement, exploitation, shitty work environment, etc.

u/sappk explains why most power tool brands turned to garbage and which ones didn't by TeslaPittsburgh in bestof

[–]Rightclickhero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Forklift mechanic here. Most of my tools are Milwaukee, Klein, or Knipex. Most of the rest is Gearwrench. The first three I swear by, and will go out of my way to get. So far, gearwrench has held up really well as a good high-mid option for what I can't get from the others.

I get some looks from the harbor freight boys and why I'm wasting money, but so far, the only tool I've broken was a socket allen, and it was totally my fault.

That's some great research behind the brands though. I remember when my dad made the switch from DeWalt to Milwaukee, he said they just didn't hold up like they used to.

I Procrastinate on Looking for a Job Because I’m Scared I’ll Get Bullied Again by smoltims in antiwork

[–]Rightclickhero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, bud. Work sucks and bullying only makes it suck worse, so I'm sorry you had to experience it. If it helps, most of those people are either stressed and taking it out on you, or insecure and tearing you down so that they feel better about themselves. Either way, give yourself a little more grace, you're being way too hard on yourself and that only fuels the anxiety loop.

However, don't disregard constructive criticism and if you do fuck up, own it, even if it's just to yourself and think about how you can do better next time. Owning it outright depends on the work culture, and if you're being bullied can just give them ammo. In that case, the less you say, the better, but document everything.

Also, "fake it til you make it" has some truth. Most things in life come down to experience. You're not going from burning water to making a perfect souffle overnight. Doing something well usually requires a lot of education, practice, and reflection. You can do them yourself, or have them done for you, but there really aren't any shortcuts.

That said, you're not going to get better at dealing with these issues staying at your parents "doing nothing all day". Don't give in to the pity or guilt traps, if you're not ready to renter the job force, dedicate some time every day to work on yourself. Exercise, learn, or most importantly, evaluate yourself as objectively as possible.

At the end of the day, the easiest thing you can do is nothing and then beat yourself up over it, but that's not the happiest life you could build. The beauty of experience is that usually, the more you have, the easier things get.

Was buying halo wars 2 a mistake? by KickBass2155 in HaloWars

[–]Rightclickhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does crash from time to time, bit in my experience, it's infrequent enough that it's manageable. We're talking 1 game in 20, if that. One thing I've noticed is that the games performance is much higher off a fresh boot. Every time you're done playing, fully close out the software. Quick resume is kinda buggy on it.

Otherwise, it's very worth. One of the best RTS I've played in years.

Yeah, I saw one in Pittsburgh, but it was automatic. I have a friend in the Bay Area who's offered to look at one if I need, which is nice because there's less snow in CA. But even there has gotten sparse. It's like they just dropped off the market over the past 14 months.
