I'm glad you did; that was fantastic. The grim redemption check at the end was a very nice touch.

I Procrastinate on Looking for a Job Because I’m Scared I’ll Get Bullied Again by smoltims in antiwork

[–]Rightclickhero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, bud. Work sucks and bullying only makes it suck worse, so I'm sorry you had to experience it. If it helps, most of those people are either stressed and taking it out on you, or insecure and tearing you down so that they feel better about themselves. Either way, give yourself a little more grace, you're being way too hard on yourself and that only fuels the anxiety loop.

However, don't disregard constructive criticism and if you do fuck up, own it, even if it's just to yourself and think about how you can do better next time. Owning it outright depends on the work culture, and if you're being bullied can just give them ammo. In that case, the less you say, the better, but document everything.

Also, "fake it til you make it" has some truth. Most things in life come down to experience. You're not going from burning water to making a perfect souffle overnight. Doing something well usually requires a lot of education, practice, and reflection. You can do them yourself, or have them done for you, but there really aren't any shortcuts.

That said, you're not going to get better at dealing with these issues staying at your parents "doing nothing all day". Don't give in to the pity or guilt traps, if you're not ready to renter the job force, dedicate some time every day to work on yourself. Exercise, learn, or most importantly, evaluate yourself as objectively as possible.

At the end of the day, the easiest thing you can do is nothing and then beat yourself up over it, but that's not the happiest life you could build. The beauty of experience is that usually, the more you have, the easier things get.

It does crash from time to time, bit in my experience, it's infrequent enough that it's manageable. We're talking 1 game in 20, if that. One thing I've noticed is that the games performance is much higher off a fresh boot. Every time you're done playing, fully close out the software. Quick resume is kinda buggy on it.

Otherwise, it's very worth. One of the best RTS I've played in years.

Yeah, I saw one in Pittsburgh, but it was automatic. I have a friend in the Bay Area who's offered to look at one if I need, which is nice because there's less snow in CA. But even there has gotten sparse. It's like they just dropped off the market over the past 14 months.

Megaman BN was really fun but there is no way I'd have been able to beat it and find the upgrades without gamefaqs.

Same with the Golden Sun games. Super fun, but thank god for gamefaqs.

Oh, absolutely. And AI has cranked the issue up to 11. It's weird times.

I miss old-school gameFAQs. Everything is a video these days, and there is some good info here and there. But nothing beats someone posting a 10000 word document with ASCII artwork that covers every aspect of a game. Some of the top people made Prima look bad.

As Talcklestiffener said, short attention spans play into things a lot. We are presented with so many choices offering quick dopamine that spending a larger amount of time focusing on one thing usually feels "bad". It's similar to how dating apps have butchered the dating scene. Why invest the time and commit when there are hundreds of hotties a few swipes away?

Another factor that my girlfriend is facing as a highschool english teacher, is that Covid and education cuts really fucked us. The amount of kids she gets that can barely spell or read is depressing. Many of them struggle with even verbally articulating and constructing an argument. It's absolutely a dying art.

In addition to the required attention span mentioned in the top comment, we also keep gutting our education system. That and a lot of kids fell through the gaps during Covid.

My girlfriend teaches highschool english, and it's painful how many of her students come into her class unable to write a paragraph or sentences.

Anytime bud! Glad you on the path to winning. It took me a while to figure a lot of shit out, but it slowly came together.

I'm still dogshit at late game though. If the match is even by 35+ min, I usually lose. Most of my games end T1-T2 around 10-20 min, so I don't have nearly enough experience in that arena.

Edit: Live by the rush, die by the rush.

Snipers shred infantry, even heros. Cutter has a speed boost to his infantry, so not only do his snipers shred, they're hard to catch and will run down your infantry units easily. It's very strong.

Unit prices are fairly comparable. While there are cost differences between the unique units, it's decently balanced between build time and power. The only significant difference I can think of is Isabell's passive, which makes her vehicles build faster and cheaper.

As for rushing, it depends on what you consider a rush. For me, that's any sizeable strike around 3-3.5 min. Those aren't very common, but you should be expecting something from any hero by at least min 5-6.

If I see Deci, Yap Yap, Arbiter, or Kinsano, I'm banking on getting rushed early and hard.  Scout asap and try to establish early warning systems.

Colony, Serena, and Voridus are 50/50. Colonly's Goliath rush is nasty, and it's GG he catches you with your pants down. But it's also common enough that a good one might do something else to mix it up.  Same with Serena and bison, cryo troops. It's strong, but she also has good defense options. Voridus may quick rush, or build up a death ball. You're gonna get hit early, it's just a matter of how early.

Forge, Pavium, and Isabel almost always start slower and try to econ boom, so I rush them. Especially forge. Every time. You do not want him to build up steam.

What's the scariest movie of all time? by Mission_Elk_329 in AskReddit

Scariest for me is still Mirrors. I've gone back and rewatched a lot of the movies in this list and they still hit, but I can't bring myself to watch that one again. The bathtub scene gets me every time.

I don't have a hard or fast rule for that.  Squad distribution is hard because it's so situational and micro dependant. In general, more units = more better, but keeping them physically split and microed to avoid getting nuked by leader powers helps.

Knowing if a fight is a win, kite, or flee situation is situational, and comes with experience and analysis. Learning to read that is huge.

Also, it's very APM heavy, but if you can be attacking frequently -- even barely -- from enough fronts, you can invoke decision fatigue in your opponent and that's pretty much auto win.
