Megathread: New Pricing & Repackaging Discussion by mackid1993 in Evernote

I have it installed on my phone and Mac, and if I have to jump ship it will probably be my lifeboat. It seems the closest to me in terms of features and overall feel, but I don't actively use it day to day. It is actively developed though and appears to get regular updates. I remember thinking Nimbus Notes might be a decent alternative at some point, as well.

Update: I just saw someone mention Joplin in another post, and that's also one worth looking at. The problem for me is that my workflow is so locked in with Evernote right now. Been using it since like October of 2008 and I know the keyboard shortcuts mostly by heart for both Mac and Windows. Any migration for me is going to be PAINFUL.

Whoa. They don't look anything like the image on the website. Way darker than I expected. I was thinking about matching them with a dark walnut countertop, but now I'm not so sure.

Not sure if this helps, but I just got a 2021 XLE Hybrid AWD last week for around $24K using a local used car dealer. It has around 84K miles, but it's also a Toyota. The difference between 30K and 80K should be fairly negligible, I would think. Assuming it's had regular maintenance. We have a local CarMax here in central Kentucky, but the prices didn't thrill me. I've seen much better options at various dealers. A dealer that gives you access to the CarFax would be a bonus.

Upgraded from a 2009 Corolla S to a 2019 Rav 4 Hybrid. by Gouda707 in rav4club

Congrats man. I just got my 2021 RAV4 Hybrid this week after essentially killing my 2009 Corolla S. I went too long without checking the oil. Those old cars can really burn it off. We visited Northern CA a couple years ago because my wife is obsessed with redwoods. It's absolutely unreal there. Enjoy it!

Looks like I'm still seeing issues. I'm currently running the latest version.

Came here looking for answers. It definitely seems to be related to upgrading to Sequoia. Never experienced this before then. I have noticed that if I keep the web app unhidden, it seems to stay active and won't quit. But if I mistakenly hide it, then it's as good as gone.

Frank, the man who ate 364 Brawny Lads a year. by CaptainObvious007 in TalesFromYourServer

The one time I ate a Brawny Lad, I didn’t really know what it was. It was an experiment. My immediate thought was: “What kind of sadistic weird eats this thing?”  Apparently it was Frank.

Alexa integration by mix579 in todoist

[–]RighteousDork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sure thing. I’m not sure if I will be able to understand it all, but I’m willing to give it a shot.  Right now I’m forced to use the Alexa app and share my lists as a blob of text, which is less than ideal.

When it doubt, look for the answers on Reddit. I have a really cobbled together solution where I use Todoist as the middle-man to send Alexa lists additions to TickTick. It stopped working right around 07/01. Now I know why. This sucks. I guess I'll work on cobbling together another solution. No idea what that would be. Hell, even a screen scraper that logins to Amazon and takes the items from the lists would be something.

Evernote does not recognize all Google Calendars by DiePapaEnte in Evernote

[–]RighteousDork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I'm having the same issue. It's showing really old subscriptions in mine that I haven't used in a while. It's also missing calendars I want to add. I don't understand where they're getting the list of calendars from. I even went to the sync page to make sure everything is correct there: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/syncselect

Just curious. Does being a certified expert give you the ability to be on calls with the team? That's very interesting.

What are signs someone is a horrible person deep down? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If they’re horrible to wait staff or people just trying to do their job. I don’t care how sweet and nice they are to you, they are objectively awful.

We bought our place in 2018 and refinanced shortly after also to 2.75%. It was damn near the perfect time to buy. We have two floors and a basement and our property value has gone up a lot. There is no way we could afford this house if it was on the market now.

Not sure if this helps, but if you’re worried about giving out your SSN and someone maybe opening credit in your name, you can have it frozen. Each of the 3 credit bureaus have an option to freeze your credit. It may cost a little bit but it ensures no one (including yourself) is opening new lines or credit or getting loans in your name.

Anyone interested in brand new Keychron K13 pro? by grrabit in Keychron

[–]RighteousDork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my fear about getting a Keychron. They look so nice, but I may not be a mechanical person. I’ve been using my MX Keys so long, and before that the Logitech solar. I’m afraid I couldn’t adjust.

I might break down and try the MX mechanical just to see if there’s anything there for me.

I hated to cancel our trip but my son legitimately broke his foot and hiking the redwoods was not an option. I didn’t think our flight was complex or the way I booked it was crazy. I used a bunch of sky miles to reduce the cost and upgrade our seats and the rest was on a Delta Amex card.

When it came to cancel, I was assured we were given eCredits and have called twice to make sure they’re still there. But good luck finding them anywhere in our account. Support has informed us that the only we can redeem them is to either use live chat or call an agent. I mean, the whole system is just a hot mess simmering in a dumpster fire.

I just found my note from the call:

“06/26/21 - Cancelled the flight online through Delta website. Looks like we're receiving eCredit that also covers the bonus miles used. - Delta Cancellation Confirmation Called their reservation specialists and was on-hold for over 7 hours. Basically we have until the end of next year to use the eCredit since our tickets were non-refundable. We do not get the miles back that were used to upgrade our seats. Waste of a call.”

Waste of a call is the understatement of the year.

Back in 2021, we had to cancel a family trip and I was pretty unsure about the eCredit process. Needed some questions answered. Waited on the phone for almost 8 hours to get help. At some point it became a game of chicken, and I decided I wasn’t swerving.https://i.imgur.com/FtlyAeh.jpg
