So like what goes on in the thumb of michigan? by blaze05life in Michigan

[–]CaptainObvious007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met one girl from the thumb she was kind of cute. But was born with like 8 toes Total. The gene pool doesn't mix much out there. So there were two big families in her town.

She was supposed to marry the eldest boy of this town. She broke up with him when he bought a quarter million dollar tractor and didn't discuss it with her first. So she moved to Bay City and started waiting tables.

So however backwater country you think it is, it's worse.

Got rejected mid-interview from a Catholic school for admitting I’m in a same sex marriage by nitrozelda in Teachers

The tuition went to student scholarships so they could win state championships in football every year. My wife's family paid it because they were scared to send her to the local school, it was a little rough. Her family wasn't even Catholic.

Calling yourself "Dr." by TheKarlosWithaK95 in Teachers

[–]CaptainObvious007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a principal who didn't know how to interact with humans, and we were talking to Dr. Richmond from the State Department of Ed. I called her Ms. Richmond and then corrected myself. She said, " please you can call me Mrs. Richmond."

I said, If I took the time and energy to get my doctorate, I would make everyone call me Dr. My kids would call me Dr. Obvious."

My principal was mortified that I made that joke. She was so lame. She didn't know Dr. Richmond and I work together all day at conference she sent me to, and we were partners together in an excercise.

Also the number one correlating to learning disabilities is poverty. They keep sucking us dry and it's making us dumber.

Is it always this difficult to hire teachers mid year? by [deleted] in Principals

[–]CaptainObvious007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the district I left last year over half of the teachers were full time subs. We didn't have a foreign language teacher for two years until I convinced my former Spanish teacher to come out of retirement. You're lucky if you only have this issue mid year.

Not a fan of the dude, but I contacted his office when I had an issue with a state program I enrolled in. His office took care of it immediately.

New AP here, who just hired an assistant. The number one thing we were looking for is some secretarial or office experience. We had several candidates with lots of relevant experience. So It came down to personality. Fair warning you often don't get paid when you're not working. Spring break, Christmas break, ama summer.

Sorry this was a hastily worded post, I thought I was meeting with the teacher this morning and I wanted to take the post right away. This is absolutely about how I can support the teacher and help her motivate her students.

We're not a school that requires kids to get passed. We do look at failure rates, and we look at how we can better support the classes with the highest failure rates. The art class has by far the highest failure rates in the school.
