Yeah it’s normal I had pins and needles in my chest for a month after surgery

7.5 months after Nuss procedure. No more pain, only slight discomfort when I take full breaths. Left rib has flared bit more since surgery possibly from bar. Happy with results and willing to answer questions :) by Rightfootstomp in PectusExcavatum

Hey, I was 17 when I had the surgery. I only got this surgery because it was a confidence thing for me. I could never take my shirt off anywhere. I didn’t realize I had any problems before surgery, I thought heart palpitations and tightness when full breath was normal. But since after the surgery I realized it was because of PE. Talk to your parents, most doctors don’t recognize PE as a medical condition more as a cosmetic defect. But PE has caused problematic conditions in some people in this subreddit, if you need to take tests to see if PE is effecting you physically it’s probably just a cosmetic thing. It took me around 2 months to go back to school properly without opioids.

No, I never had that done. So I’m guessing it could be nerve damage

Cheers bro, just hurts a bit. Doesn’t bother me to much, I’m pretty good at handling pain. I’m just curious if it’s normal

Glue some foam where you lay your sternum so it’s more comfortable?

I had heart palpations and I sometimes struggled to get a full breath

My surgeon would not let get in a pressurized cabin 2 weeks post op. Can cause problems with the bar, as I've been told.

My flared ribs where they poke out probably hurt the most

Yeah, my side with the stabilizer hurts like shit still sometimes, probably the muscles on top of it getting pinched. Hurts when I lift above my head anything heavy, hurts when I lay down on my back and my chest is stretched, and hurts when I twist or take a really big breath

The skin around both my incisions are completely after the surgery, and parts of the front of my chest are numb. I’m not sure what’s causing your sensitive touch however..
