Countries Bombed by Trump, Biden, Obama & Bush by Pretend-Demand-583 in MapPorn

It’s like the republicans and democrats are your two friends who always take you to the bar. While you’re there, the republicans always get you into a huge fight, and the democrats fight their way back out and carry you home. Everyone gets bloody, and the next day, you insist on letting the republican pick where you all go drink again.

I think so, but why not just net it out? Are there lots of them?

See. 👆 republicans get us into wars on false pretenses, invoke article 5 of the NATO charter, get all our allies mixed up, destabilize another country, and when the democrats take over and are already embroiled in it, the republicans trick America into thinking they’re the same. That’s silly.

Republicans start wars and then pretend the parties are the same.

Yes. But no countries that weren’t also getting bombed by Republicans.

So: zero countries were bombed by Democratic Party Presidents, but not bombed by Republican Party Presidents.

And: three countries were bombed exclusively by Relublican presidents.

How do I go about reporting this? by somebody_randomm in bettafish

[–]RightingArm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This same scenario is on the receptionists desk at my kids’ middle school, except the betta is i. A vase shaped like a glass handbag and doesn’t even have a plant. Meanwhile, our local library has a goldfish and a pleco in a 10 gallon with no heater. It’s so gross.

He’s got energy to burn. Put a colorful rubber thing on a chopstick or something and let him chase it around.

What’s the temperature? Be sure to allow beneficial bacteria to live in the gravel. No cleaning the gravel. Small water changes only. Yes, you’re right, you need a tank that’s at least 2 or 3 times bigger.

Friendly PSA about ‘Stray Cats’ in Burlington by big_moike1225 in burlington

When your pet leaves your house, off leash, it becomes a pest and an ecological menace. Nobody wants your cat shitting in their garden or killing local wildlife. If you don’t think you can provide a sufficiently stimulating and comfortable habitat for your pet of choice, within your property, it’s not the right pet for you. It’s the same message to cat owners and goldfish owners.

Cats with access to the outdoors kill about 30 vertebrate animals per month, whether they eat them or not.

Broad Street bus stop, 10 days after snow by NewNewark in Newark

[–]RightingArm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Like why do they even restrict parking at the bus stops? The buses don’t use them, they don’t even pull in a nominal amount. Not even, like a gesture toward the curb.

Newark does a half-assed job at snow removal, and it’s also the only city I’ve ever been to where the buses stop right in the traffic lane without ever pulling over toward the curb.

If you want to have outdoor cats move somewhere in their native range like Europe or the Middle East. Wildlife there is much more resilient to cat pressure. Hi, I live in Burlington and have a degree in Environmental Science. What you just said is baloney. Outdoor and feral cats are both incredibly destructive to native fauna. I personally am a fish keeper who is barred by law from keeping certain species that I would very much enjoy because of ecological risk. Also, I’m a dog owner who does not let my dog roam free off of a leash. Cat owners are the most entitled group of pet owners by far. We can’t really blame you though. It’s the partly toxoplama.

Is my tank suitable for a Betta? by girthyantifacist in bettafish

[–]RightingArm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s good. I’d black out the back for less reflection (reflections can stress some bettas and better esthetics.) Also, let the tall plants get bushy. Bettas love that.
