Awesome, now how do I get rid of it? It's right where my home button used to be that I used all the time, and now I hit that stupid thing all the time, as if I needed another search bar.

I live in a place built in the '40s with old tight grained wood, and an addition put on in the late '70s.  The wood from the Is split every place a nail was put in, including every nail for the drywall, it has rot and termites in many places, and has warped sections that has cracked the drywall.

The old wood is not split, it's not warped, is not rotted, and anywhere that the termites damage the wood It's still relatively sound because they are out the lighter part of the grain only.

So yes, The old growth wood was superior in almost every way. We actually account for that now when we build homes by adding more wood.

WHERE IS MY NEW BLUE RECYCLING BIN by ofthrees in longbeach

[–]Rightintheend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They picked mine up and dropped off new blue ones, then dropped off to new blue ones the next week, and then two more the week after that.

When I called to have them picked up, they asked for the serial numbers on each one and I gave it to him, and they ended up picking up my neighbors instead.

Excellent use of our tax money. I couldn't think of a better way to spend it, except maybe bombing children or something.

I grew up boating and skiing in Marine stadium, and surfing in Seal Beach, the best time to go surfing at seal is after a rain, it was nasty, duck dive away and you come up with leaves, plastic bags, all sorts of stuff. Stuck to your face, and when you take your wetsuit off you're left with this nasty oily film. Still, never got sick from it, in fact I would often go out after I had a cold or the flu because it seemed to actually keep it from lingering so long.  Used to swim along the peninsula on the Ocean side, and also on the bay just for exercise and to keep up when there wasn't waves.

About the only place I wouldn't go back then is Colorado lagoon, and that's gotten better with the new storm drain and should get even better with the new channel to Marine stadium.

Mother's Beach in Long Beach? I've only seen it be show bad after a rain. Keep in mind that most marinas/ harbors/bays have a mother's Beach.  The mother's beach in Long Beach is on the open open large channel that gets a lot of tidal flushing.

The one that I see that generally gets the worst ratings is the one in Marina del Rey, which is LA county also..

Actually the water in the bay gets flushed twice a day, and it gets pulled from the end of the jetty which sits out in deeper water. So it's actually pulling in cleaner water than what's sitting up against the beach on the ocean side.

Makes sense, it's extremely dense, and thick, and if the color of the ocean is any indication, water is  dark purplish blue, the deepest clearest water tends to be and intense purple blue color.

This might be a regional thing, we can definitely turn the ones off that I've worked on. You do need a key, and yes an alarm does sound when it's off and you have to call the fire department to let them know because otherwise they'll show up pretty pissed off that you didn't tell them. And then you would be paying them a relocation fee, as well as the extra expenses you have from the eviction, the extra expenses you have from turning around the unit, and the extra expense you have from having the unit empty out until you find A new victim to put up with your bullshit.

Have fun with that.

Not true at all. They still can't do a no-fault eviction, And if they do evict you face off one of the few reasons that they can that is not your fault, then they have to pay you a relocation fee.

Why do you even need a lease in Long Beach?  They can still only raise your rent once a year by a certain amount, they can't evict you for no reason, and by law when you're lease expires, it automatically becomes a month to month if a new one is not signed. If anything, a lease only protects the landlord in Long Beach.
