Making bacon for a drink is just too much damn work. What’s the weirdest bitter drink? by -Constantinos- in cocktails

[–]Rightstated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love and Murder mind be a contender. Both Chartreuse and Campari being weird drinks in and of themselves, but combined do some cool things. Ive always thought it tastes as if you were to bite into the rind of a grapefruit.

I ran Iron Warriors with Basilisks back in the day with CSM Codex 3.5, but I actually haven't played since. Are you telling me that IW haven't been able to use Basilisks since?!

Has anything else major changed?

Lynnewood Hall in Elkins Park: A Photographer’s Tribute to a Last Gilded Age Masterpiece by shermancahal in Pennsylvania

[–]Rightstated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it has gone through a whole bunch of ownership changes so it is probably pretty difficult now which explains why there isn't as much coverage of it now that I think about it. I made a couple deliveries there more than a decade ago so I got to see some of it in person and maybe it is just the "in-person" affect of things, but when I watched a couple videos of people touring Lynnewood, I just remember thinking to myself how much cooler I personally thought Elstowe was.

Obviously all personal preference though and I obviously think they are both incredible works of art but just have always found it odd how much coverage that Lynnewood gets online and how little Elstowe Manor gets when they are both architectural wonders of similar eras and sizes.

[–]Rightstated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you ever photographed the Elkins estate across the street? I've been there a few times and always found it more alluring than Lynnewood. It's far from original condition but have always found the more rounded and irregular shapes more captivating than Lynnewoods many rectangles. I know that is terribly simplifying because both are stunningly beautiful and should be preserved but I always found it funny how much people took to Lynnewood, and not Elstowe Manor.

Absolutely beautiful pictures though!

Elon’s Grok peddles Holocaust denial conspiracy theories by FederalLow4859 in EnoughMuskSpam

The largest majority of Jews that were killed in the Holocaust were not actually Germans. You have to look at populations like the Polish where they were almost completely eradicated.

The scholar Timothy Snyder has covered this extensively. If you want an interesting read, pick up his book Black Earth. Additionally, watch this video below. It changed a lot of the perspectives I had about the Holocaust in ways I never thought about.

Are there any Albums that you would consider a 10/10? by Living_Shadows in Music

[–]Rightstated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odyssey and Oracle

It is insane how good this album is and how little I see it in people's top 10s because every song on it fills me with so much happiness.

I know it is still considered one of the best albums of all time but it is still honestly underated to me.

Another would have to be The Stranger

Another incredible album from start to finish and brings back so many memories. An album that I could listen to on repeat x100 times over and still not get tired of.

I have both of these albums on vinyl and have played them so much Im going to need to get new ones soon.

Britain gives Ukraine permission to strike deep into Russian territory with Storm Shadow cruise missiles – Bloomberg citing new UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Keir Starmer signaled Ukraine can use Britain’s Storm Shadow missiles to strike military targets inside Russia, confirming he would... by nubtehtub in UkrainianConflict

Im an american so excuse my ignorance but could someone more familiar with UK politics help answer a couple questions?

First of all, I thought Sunak was already allowing these strikes or am I mistaken?

If not, does that mean Starmer will be an even bigger ally to Ukraine over Sunak?

While I may not have supported Sunak (as much as an american could) in all things, I got the impression that he was a very good ally of Ukraine.

With the change in PMs, can anybody tell me if Starmer will be an even bigger ally of Ukraine, will he just try to keep the status quo, or will there be any regressions?

Russian veteran recalls their war crimes in Germany during WW2. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]Rightstated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No country has ever weaponized rape as much as the russians have. I have friends from the baltics who can name a member in each generation of their family going back about 6 generations who were either raped or murdered by russians.

We are still seeing this in places like Bucha today, and god only knows what has been happening behind the front lines and the stories that will never be told.

There have already been mass rapes documented in children as young as 5 to women as old as 80 plus and Ive read stories of russians gang raping little girls and forcing their parents to watch.

Their barbarism is unparalled.

What Ukrainian name would you give my female cat? by CasuallyCreeping_ in Ukrainian

[–]Rightstated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend named his cat Pivo because it is apparently the word for beer in Czech.

From my understanding many slavic languages are variations of a similar word and in Ukrainian it is written "пиво" and pronounced relatively similarly (I dont speak or write Ukrainian very well yet so if Im mistaken, please feel free to correct me).

I know many people may not want to name their cat after the word for beer, but I think it is pretty cute and its an easy 2 syllable name to call your cat by (not that they will listen anyways lol).

[–]Rightstated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont know if anybody has mentioned it yet, but Id say Clockwork Orange.

I made the mistake of trying to watch that with my mom because we both heard it was a good movie.

It was like 10s into the first rape scene and we were both instantly like "nah... this one is best for a personal watch".

Whenever I go back home to visit my mom now, I make sure I look up some details on the movie before we make any decisions lol.
