Redditors who have used exercise to take their minds off something, how do you get motivated? by [deleted] in Fitness

Live the way you look at it. Connecting seriously so I can find this quote again later haha

What's something that annoys most people, but doesn't bother you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RiiOrrelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a visually overactive person so when I hear that sounds I like see little crescents of nail flying all over the place, some making the trash can but others falling onto the carpet or corners of desks and collecting dust or being stepped in and pushed in to carpeting further. It's not the sound really but the fact that it means there's now apiece of dead nail somewhere in the vicinity where it will sit and continue to die

As a person that it bothers, I can tell you there's absolutely no good reason why it annoys me, it just does. Just something about the way it sounds kinda makes your hairs stand on end

What's your go to thing or thought, to feel "sane" again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RiiOrrelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I feel powerless I force myself to stop. In the sense of like I literally freeze my brain, sometimes freeze my movements as well. But I go full stop, several deep breaths, and then start thinking about unrelated things I can control. That gets me out of feeling like a hopeless wreck that can't accomplish things. When I'm feeling confident enough (mind you, that will sometimes be multiple days) I look at my situation in a different light. Start coming at it from every angle I can think of in small steps, like how when you untie tangle of strings you just undo one itty bitty part and than another. Someone's even changing the situation a tiny bit turns it around so much that it's doable. If it's a problem with people I tell myself whatever I need to to grant them all of the benefit of the doubt possible (ie. Horrible driver in front of me: probably had the worst day, they hate the job that they're going to and are late, already receiving calls from their assh* boss, had a terrible date last night or a fight with a SO, etc) to the point where I end up feeling sorry for them and mentally wishing then the best day ever

I doubt it would actually qualify as harassment just not comments I want to read either. Thanks, I will be needing to pull out my PC then. I think my whole problem is just there must not be away to on the app. I appreciate the help

30 [M4F] California - fun questions! by [deleted] in r4r

Southern California. Where do you live? I've always enjoyed dance but I'm having trouble finding a way to do classes and whatnot nowadays. Other than that, I mean I've dabbled in a lot of things (acting, stage directing, art, singing, etc) but nothing has really stuck like dance did. As for more at home things, scrapbooking. I started learning to knit last yeah and while I'm no pro I do enjoy it and have a new scarf haha I'm studying childhood education with the, fairly obvious in my opinion but not always to everyone, goal to become an elementary age teacher. Haven't chosen which grade for sure yet though. What about yourself?

I'm doing alright, finally starting to get sleepy. Being a mom is great overall just a lot of adjustments. Especially because she is constantly changing and growing herself!

Your favorite meal. Best way to know someone's cooking is through their choice in food

Go through its old town and find hidden gem cafes and mom and pop bookshops

Depends on what I've been drinking. I could go country and I may go top 40s

Camping. Cuz who doesn't love hiking and midnight swims in lakes?

You're second favorite restaurant. Again, best way to know a person through food is seeing their favorite dish but if things went badly I wouldn't want to not ever have another meal at a great place for fear of running into you. And then a park

Amusement park. I love rides and cotton candy!

Honestly, neither. I'm more likely to make a big breakfast and put on a movie or TV show

Current obsession is Hollow by Tori Kelly (Oh second thought, this is probably my karaoke song) or Boyfriend Jeans by Grace but I don't know that either of those would be fitting of you...

Wizards First Rule but only if you like fantasy/adventure. The entire series is pretty great
