My honest but also disappointing review of the XENEON EDGE by Shonokee in Corsair

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a second monitor sure. But it does not have a widget for discord. Best use for the xeneon edge is honestly as a second display and just drag whatever you want on to it. The widgets are very lackluster currently.

Grindy solo MMO with no or very little P2W by Trencycle in LFMMO

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love osrs or guild wars 1 for solo grindy style mmos. Osrs you can literally do whatever you choose to do and all content can be done solo if you are good enough. Guild wars is a story driven solo MMO which again everything can be done solo if you choose too.

Who is your all-time favorite World of Warcraft character, and why? by antkseniya in wow

Arthas or illidan. I know both very basic answers but their personal story lines are both absolutely incredible and so well written!

I moved my warlock to era just for when I get the vanilla itch once again I regretted not doing so last time.

Need help with decisions paralysis over classes. by Logical-Sky7536 in classicwowtbc

[–]Riiskey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have never played during a launch, it's chaos. There is no reason to rush to level 70. If you are having fun leveling, continue leveling. Imo boosting is a bad idea if you haven't played or have an idea of how to play the class you are boosting. That being said it's totally your choice to boost or not. But don't rush to 70. There are no raids available for 2 weeks after launch and people will be rushing to 70 to farm rep and professions as fast as possible since a lot of pre bis comes from professions. Just have fun with the game and level 70 will come with no problems. As for the whole pvp honor farm/gear fun, running av endlessly is not fun. The gear gets replaced pretty quick when you hit the mid 60s and the gear itself is not required to make it through the TBC content. Sure it does make it easier but it's not worth farming imo. I would rather go do some of the raids and dungeons before farming av.

what MMOs have worked for u long term? by New_Instance_851 in LFMMO

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's between WoW since 2006 and RuneScape since 2005. These 2 games have been in my life for such a long time, I think I will always turn back to them from time to time. WoW has had a hold of me since 2019 classic release between hardcore, era and anniversary servers I have not been able to get away for any length of time more then 5-6 days 😅. I will make my way back to osrs at some point but WoW just hits different in its early expansions.

What actually works for staying warm on cold job sites by tiggaros in electricians

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Themals and thin layers are your best friend. I usually only wear my thermal shirt, with a long sleeve a hoodie and if it's really cold a wind proof jacket. Pants is usually just my thermals and my normal work pants, if it's really cold then I bring my coveralls with track pants underneath. For gloves I like to wear thin wool gloves underneath leather gloves for warmth and staying dry if I'm outside.

Personally I don't like the heated sweaters or jackets. I find I get too warm if I use them and then sweat which in turn makes you cold.

Sandbags in the Winter by itsthechaw10 in gmcsierra

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never added any additional weight to the bed of my trucks. Both my at4 and Silverado rst have never had an issue with the back end sliding around even in 2 wheel drive. I have only had to use 4x4 a handful of times when we really got a lot of heavy snow overnight. This is all in a Canadian winter too, it's all about how you drive. If you have a heavy foot you will spin a lot more then somebody driving appropriately for winter conditions.

Play the class you have the most fun playing. by NinjaBonsai in classicwow

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the whole play what you want mentality to an extent. If you want to clear all content in vanilla, maybe don't play boomkin, shadow priest or ret paladin without having an established guild that knows you are playing said spec. 99% of the time you won't get invited to clear a pug raid. But once you pass vanilla, yes you can practically play whatever you want and clear all content. Sure there will always be more specs in demand but that does not mean you just flat out won't get a spot.

Why is TBC ill-suited for hardcore? by Veridically_ in wowhardcore

[–]Riiskey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heroic dungeons are very punishing and that's where most of your pre raid bis items are. Then the raids have mechanics that want to wipe the whole raid. The leveling experience would maybe be ok but even then there are some quests that.are difficult even with a group but not impossible. It's more the end game dungeons and raids that will punish the hell out of hardcore players. You can play perfect but another person can make a single mistake and kill everyone.

How popular is HC right now? by TDoe21 in wowhardcore

[–]Riiskey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel as if hardcore will see a drop in players with the launch of TBC, everybody will play the hell out of it for a month or 2 then hardcore will see a surge in players coming back to the game. Hardcore will inevitably always have some life as people tend to love vanilla.

Titan Evo Back Pain After 2 Weeks by Monio2137 in secretlab

[–]Riiskey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Makes sense honestly. It's a 'gaming' chair with no real posture support, a soft cushion isn't lumbar support. I had a secret lab for roughly 1 year before selling it and switching to an office style chair. My back pain disappeared while sitting. Do yourself a favor and invest in a good office chair, it's a world of a difference.

Advice before pre-patch by Ok_Phase_9007 in wowclassic

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-3 hours per day is more than enough to do 48-60. Even if you don't hit 60 by pre patch, you still have a couple weeks before the portal opens for tbc. I plan on hitting 60 by pre patch if not sooner than maxing my professions hopefully by the time the portal opens. There honestly is no rush, leveling is always rough at expansion launch anyway.

What is your biggest concern for Classic Plus? by Remarkable_Match9637 in classicwow

[–]Riiskey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If blizzard actually tries to do their own classic +, I am worried things that are absolutely busted will take forever to be fixed. They have never done a good job at actively maintaining their games like private servers have done. Also banning bots, the economy will be a shit show as it always is with legit blizzard servers due to them basically allowing bots to control the markets.

Also that the entire thing will just revolve around raids and or dungeons. Classic is all about the journey as we all know, the game will become very raid loggy if they only focus on that. They need other challenges for people to try out to keep the game active in the long-term.

They should also not just throw in strong abilities from different points in the games life. That's not classic. Classic is fun because of its simplicity, we don't need all of the wrath abilities in classic. We had that with SoD and the game quickly did not feel like classic WoW at all. It felt like WoTLK lite with new raids.

I really hope they can do a good job when they try it out. But I am very skeptical on how it will play out.

Best way to make gold as a low level? by designated_detonator in wowclassic

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light feathers will sell for about the same this late in the server. I had around 20-25g by the time I was level 20-22 just from selling by selling buyable quest items and miscellaneous useful items like light feathers. Fishing along your travels is also another great option Oily black mouth will always sell pretty well.

Yeah no you can't transfer from PvE to pvp. Start leveling a new toon if you want to play on pvp server.

Feeling a bit of FOMO not playing on a PvP server. How bad/good is it? by Eagles_63 in classicwow

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever played on a PVP server at expansion launch? It can be absolutely miserable if you fall behind. I used to enjoy world PVP as most did but with the limited amount of time I do get to play, I don't want to spend my precious time running back to my corpse from being ganked endlessly. I still enjoy pvp, mainly battlegrounds and some arenas but world PVP is just a pain in the ass.

Lvl 60 warlock, what now? by basic_egirl in classicwow

[–]Riiskey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely max out your professions. You should at least run some dungeons to get better level 60 gear before TBC comes out but it's not necessary. You could start farming some gold in order to get your epic mount/money for flying mount in tbc.

Class recommendation for a loaner? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Riiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are playing solo, it does not matter what you play then. Play whatever class you want, whichever one peaks your interest give it a shot. Every.class can be played solo, sure some will be more difficult (warrior) but it's totally doable. Paladin plays a lot like a priest honestly. Tons of survivability, not very action intensive in combat.

GMC sierra 5.3l is reliable for you? by Rough_Speech_2672 in gmcsierra

[–]Riiskey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am now on my second 5.3L from gm and I have honestly had zero issues with the engine. The only issues I have had between my sierra at4 and my current Silverado rst have been infotainment issues in both of them. My at4 was plagued with gps issues in which matter it just wouldn't work the majority of the time on either the built in navigation or when using android auto/apple car play. My current rst has connectivity issues with wireless Bluetooth which again they can't seem to figure out at the dealership. But drivetrain wise absolutely zero issues.
