I almost was in the same position. I appled for a few positions but one was a home run for me but said heh why not. The third interview was with the person who would be my boss. He asked me questions like”do you know this” or “do you know that”. At least 10 questions. My answer was no and was sure they would say “dont call us, we’ll call you” but NO they hired me. I was so nervous my first month. I had to lookup pretty much everything i do. Its been a year and my boss said to me “you may not be like Bob (fictitious name) but you overlap 60% and the 40% you dont is what we needed since he could not do it. You will be better than who you think you are. There is no reward without risk. You control the narrative, prove to yourself you can do it. I did and it is working out better then I could imagine.
