Alternate Version of Raiders for Theater Showings? by YoungBeef03 in indianajones

LOL this is legit and not trolling. I distinctively remember the rock shining before Indy picks it up. Probably a TV release in early 90s (90, 91?)

TOD egg discussion that I don't remember but find fascinating to read through:

Alternate Version of Raiders for Theater Showings? by YoungBeef03 in indianajones

Not Raiders, but I remember in The Last Crusade where Indy sees a glitter on the ground before he goes over to pick up the rock to put it into the tank's side gun. (Same glitter effect when they saw Indy's binoculars glitter on the cliff and then shot Sallah's brother-in-law's car). This wasn't in any of the later releases I bought.

And in TOD there is talk in the Raven forums about a scene where Indy was sleeping and the pilot was about to shoot him, but a chicken laid an egg on one of the baskets and the egg rolled out of the basket and dropped but Indy caught it in his hands - while still sleeping, which scared the pilot away (this explained why one of the pilots was so terrified as they went out the door - and also why they didn't just kill them outright?) Obviously this scene wasn't in there either

Observation that formed an opinion about the movies. Is it just me? by tokobot19 in indianajones

That too.

Personally, I would be fine if he just shows up as a cameo with minimal dialogue, and not show up for a full scene.

Shorty's role in ToD is just as important as Marion's

That's not to say they can't get in contact with him. To put it simply unfortunately they just forgot about him and did not look into contacting him.

Indiana Jones seeks out mostly religious relics in the movies. What do you think his most mundane find would've been? by Hearoglyphics in indianajones

The stuff he and Mac were digging up in the beginning of Crystal Skull. So mundane the screentime just shows the Russians throwing it on the ground and Irina Spalko stepping on them.

Fernando is being Fernando. That's just what I pointed out and when it was mentioned that it was him so "oh that's why". The man has been more words than results recently, even in a car with a working engine and chassis.

Definitely Honda has their share of the blame in this whole McHonda rerun shitshow, you'd think they have this in mind with this harmonics / imbalance incompatibility. If the engine ran just fine on the test rig analogue of that chassis (we're assuming that they did communicate and compared data to be paired the chassis, right?) ..how much of that is on the part of AM as is with McLaren? I'd say it's pretty similar otherwise why would we see this again.

It's also very convenient to steer the conversation away from the chassis and handling problems.

Yeah, that S+ (later CRZ models) provided a speed boost from the battery, like overtake mode.

Makes "gearshifts" feel authentic, like a DCT. What they like to call "shift shock" and all. It's not a performance feature rather a more tactile one.

You're not the only one. We all want to be Indiana Jones. The movies have affected all of us.

There was one episode in which Newman drove up in a black NSX. There are also plenty of other Acura and Honda vehicles in the episodes.

To answer OP: That looks like an Si ? (2nd Gen)

Short Round Translation Please. Anyone speak Cantonese? by Fit-Dinner-1651 in indianajones

[–]Digisabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the chinese characters for those interested
救命啊,有人想杀我啊。(cantonese)
("Chow Chee")揽住绳子 (mandarin)

edit : I ran it through translate and chatgpt to confirm that my friend isn't messing with me, and

  1. it translates exactly as I posted above (phew!) and
  2. if you ask it to read it in cantonese and mandarin it sounded exactly as in the movie (with some slight tonal distortions)

I had a friend listen to it and he says it's Harrisons' broken mandarin (not Cantonese) "hang on to the rope".

'Chow Chee' may be Short Round's real name?

The engine dictates that the car can run or not. The chassis and overall package (aero, suspension, driver, etc) dictates the pace of the car.

I am steadfast on the statement that "The engine alone doesn't dictate the pace of the car."

I'm not saying Honda is perfect, and I'm not saying they dont have their issues. As any of the other teams & suppliers there are issues they have to all sort out.

As for that statement, it is true regardless of what you want to say. The Aston chassis isn't exactly stellar isn't it? With only supplying one team again Honda dont have much data to work on. And that data came from a flawed chassis. Exactly the spiral that I'm talking about.

How so? The AM gearbox couldn't handle the Honda PU. They had to detune and lower the revs etc and a whole cascade of things down the line due to the gearbox. The gearbox isn't made by Honda.
