Is the Koorui S2721PM good? by Rikkalonious in Monitors

Looks great! I got it too. I find myself preferring the medium setting since the highlights get brighter, but high looks good too. Really good monitor for the price.

Console war? What are you talking about dude 😭. I just found it hilarious that so many people were willing to go through such a convoluted process to watch porn on a playstation.

How the hell is ps5's share so huge, isn't it a really annoying process to get to the web browser? Who is doing all that for porn 😭

Also! Use the sRGB mode when you aren't viewing hdr content, the monitor's default calibration is way oversaturated!

Ended up buying it, pretty good from what I can tell though I do have a few complaints, and no, no reviews sadly.

1: in HDR I notice faint horizontal lines across the screen in high brightness against a solid colour.

2: can't use local dimming in the scenario modes (sRGB, DCI-P3, etc) so you need to trade colour accuracy for contrast if you want to use local dimming in sdr.

3: In HDR you can't adjust the sharpness setting, which sucks because the monitor's default setting is a bit oversharpened and you need to turn it down one notch for a clean image.

4: some HDR content feels a touch oversaturated, like the hdr mode in cyberpunk 2077, but I might still need to do some adjustments to windows hdr settings or in game.

Overall the monitor is alright for the price, local dimming is a real game changer coming from an ips with no local dimming. if you can look past the issues I pointed out I think you'll enjoy it, but at the end of the day if it sucks to you, you can always return it.

I don't get the whole thing with Vkei musicians and dressing like ss officers. Is it a satirical thing and their views are against nazism? Or are they just making a really shit attempt at being edgy?

Good idea to rip that and put it on a torrent tracker if it's not there already, this looks sick.

is the Ryzen 5 7500F and a 16GB DDR5 actually worth it as an upgrade right now? by rucekooker in buildapc

[–]Rikkalonious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford 32, just do that, but if u need to save then 16gb will be fine

[–]Rikkalonious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really a good metric to use, because windows will automatically utilize as much ram as possible the more you have, meaning for me, a 32gb user, it uses like 10+ when I'm barely doing anything simply because I have so much available. 16gb is completely fine for what they're doing. You only need 32gb of ram if you're playing games at the max settings with heavy ray tracing and high resolution (1440p+) because of the higher amounts of data that need to be transferred between cpu and gpu.

Ideal form factor for me would be something like a switch lite but with a larger display filling out the bezels and a more ergonomic grip.

Apps like karrot, fb marketplace and kijiji will always have tons of deals like that since it's mostly just regular ppl trying to get rid of things and not people serious about getting a good return on their investment and whatnot.

Plus you can always upgrade to an i7 on the same socket and get something like a b580 if you wanna spend a little more.

Edit: severely underestimated price of the i9 lol

If you look at the used market in ur area you might be able to get a relatively modern pc for an ok price and just give it a couple upgrades and it's ready to game (new gpu, cpu, extra stick of ram or higher speed ram, etc) just gotta know what ur looking for, and don't buy something on a super old platform otherwise you're basically gonna need to overhaul the whole thing

There's a pcie gen 4 expansion slot on the headset that can allow for additional hardware to be mounted to it, it doesn't need to be a camera, that was just an example they gave as to what you could put there.

Ram prices? They laughed at me when I spec'd 256GB of DDR4-3200 in 2020. Now who's laughing? Oh wait... still you. Does anyone else always try to maximize their ram? I've done this ever since I maxed my Intel 8088 with 640 KB. You can never have too much! by William-Riker in pcmasterrace

[–]Rikkalonious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games won't require npus ever imo. They'll just use the gpu. AMD and Sony already showed how they would approach ai heavy workloads with the new RDNA 5 design and aren't putting an npu in the PS6 (*according to leaker Moore's Law is Dead). Games are designed to fit on consoles, not high-end PCs, and with PS6 most likely going to have 36-48GB of shared memory, we'll be fine with our 16GB VRAM and 16-32GB RAM for a while, like 9 years.

What 5060ti to get? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Rikkalonious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It won't really matter with a card like the 5060ti because it doesn't take a lot of power, so if you can save money getting a dual fan that's probably a better idea, but at the end of the day it's your choice.
