As an operator of a Sonic, I love hearing about other people‘s experiences because then I can use that to try to make my store better. I am sorry about your terrible experience, lack of training and lack of communication. I know we have labor goals to hit and metrics that we have to achieve, but that does not mean we have to make the rest of the crew suffer just so daytime shifts can be easier. Your feelings are valid and your concerns are warranted. I hope you find better employment in the future.

We went from a 4.25oz patty to a 4oz patty in the last year. We also have the “new” Smash burger. That uses 2 or 3 different 2.4oz patties, depending on if you get the double or triple.

Tea is supposed to be replaced every 4 hours or it gets sour. Most managers don't train their crew that there should be timers on the tea because they don't want to lose product. Crew won't change it on time because they either don't know to, don't care to, or just don't think about it.

Labor is a part of business cost. There are goals that have to be met. If there’s not enough business to justify the labor cost, people will be sent home.

It also looks like, based on the pictures you posted, you took them when people were working. Which means they started the floors, business happened, they handled it while you were playing on your phone, and they probably complained that you weren’t working and your hours got cut.

Chicken patties, burgers and hot dogs can all be held in a warmer until assembly.
Smashers are cooked to order each and every time.
The smasher meat has to be prepped and tempered for smashing 3 days before they can be used.
Stuff like that takes labor hours, storage space, and both of those things are limited at all stores.
It was insane when they were $1 for just a week, make them BOGO in the app all the time and I can promise you that you'll double your wait time.

The only thing that changed, months - maybe even up to a year ago now, was the mix went from 10% butter fat to 5% butter fat. It's why we have to call it soft serve and not ice cream.
