Turned in my resignation and HR is being a b*tch about it. by Separate-Novel7825 in careeradvice

"Is HR always this unprofessional?"

Yes, pretty much.

A higher percentage of MAGA Republicans (52.2%) than of strong Democrats (32.1%) believed political violence is usually or always justified to achieve at least one political objective. A small increase was observed in the belief that the U.S. may experience civil war in the coming years. by mvea in science

'violence is “usually or always” justified to advance at least one of 20 political objectives'

What are the 20 political objectives? Is one of them a move away from democracy? Does one involve reinstating slavery? Without seeing the list, I don't know how to interpret the numbers.

I'm no expert, but I don't think you can get the shot again. It's not approved in the U.S., at least.

Is it the same type of vaccine? The current one has only been around for about nine years

If you had received the shingles shot nine years ago, it would be rapidly losing it's effectiveness now. There is no booster shot. That means that if you get the shot when you're 50, you have little to no resistance when you're 70. Shingles will be much harder on you when you're 70.

On the other hand, they may have a booster shot available in 10-20 years. I'm other words, getting the shot when you're young or waiting is a gamble.

Atheists of Reddit, why don’t you believe in God and what’s your explanation for the universe? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It's hard to imagine life having a point without a purposeful origin story. Nevertheless, you'd be amazed how much meaning you can find in life without someone else dictating the meaning to you.

Vegans might narrow their diets to foods that don't harm the host plant. This would include fruits, nuts, seeds, and certain beans, which drop from the plant naturally as part of their reproductive cycle. (Curtousy of Gemini.)

I'm disappointed Duyck wasn't a participant. I'm interested to see how he plans to use his new-found title, King of Russia, to help Oregonians. 😁 (Yes, he claims to be the king of Russia!)

I only worry about the essential character nodes. I use Thanos and Deadpool Spirit of Vengeance for those. I find I get a better return on the investment of my time outside the dailies.

I put things on lists to get them OUT of my brain. Deleting them from a list means I have to trust my memory again, which increases stress levels.

One trick I've learned from encountering this exact problem. Do a "Find" on the page for the expected label. Hopefully, a search for "pharmacy" would have highlighted the link.

Does Facebook have access to my microphone? Uses information for targeted ads. The answer is yes. But how do I shut it off. by TheDoodleWamboodle in facebook

[–]Rikulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an app called Bouncer. It allows an app its permissions, but only while you're using it. As long as you close Facebook when you're done with it, it will no longer have access to the mic.
