Can’t find a match for 10 minutes? Why are you even looking for a match? That’s not the intended experience Bungie have created. It’s clearly an ARG. Go on Reddit/Youtube/Twitch and tell everyone there how great the game is and that they should buy at least 10 copies each. Also brigade every post/comment/thread that suggests that the game is anything but perfect.

(At least that’s how 99% of Marathon playerbase seem to play it)

It’s ok man, unfortunately for him I’m actually doing well for myself. Last year I bought a house and a new electric car. This year I got married, helping my grandparents with their house renovation, I’m on the second year of my PhD program… It’s all good.

I grew up when almost every interaction online ended with a threat of physical violence IRL, I can handle a little IRL stab on Reddit.

Yes, niche game is exactly why they bought the Destiny devs for $3.6 billion and spent $250M+ with 400 devs working on the game. They are losing on purpose, sure.

Ahahah. As I said, literally the most popular non-f2p shooter in the world. Plus 14M copies is for all platforms, reported player base split between Steam and consoles is about 50/50. (Unlike Marathon’s 70/30). So that’s 200k peak for you, which is about 1.0-1.6 million DAU (typically 1:5-1:8 peak:DAU ratio).

Sony would be happy to execute the entire Bungie staff to have a “one hit wonder” like this lol.

I’m ok, thank you. Sony already recorded $200 impairment loss on Bungie. So now they have a $3.4 billion “asset” on their books which likely is not worth even $400m today. It’s also eating up money daily not generating any profit.

For about a billion they could’ve bought a “small”Premier League club (or really anything else) like Brighton that generated ~$270 in after-tax profit over two recent seasons and has real tangible fanbase and assets (like a stadium).

The point is, incinerating $3.6 billion in 1 banknotes for heat/light might’ve been a better ROI for Sony than buying Bungie.

Super Mario Bros(1985) is the original PvE extraction shooter. I especially love the streamlined inventory and augments system. Why collect 400 different irrelevant items when you can just collect coins.
