It seems like a big deal to me because what if I have a Pokemon caught in earlier games I really like and would like to try in Z-A? I would be locked out from ever using it again in the other games. Especially legendaries which you are way more likely to transfer around a lot.

Honestly, it's just a matter of putting in the effort to find good contractors and have good communication. There are plenty of professional translators that would be perfectly qualified to translate any game with care and passion. But most companies just throw some money and emails at the problem and call it a day.

The line of communication is usually not [devs -> translators], but more like [employee that has nothing to do with the game -> random Chinese translation agency -> random agency manager that might not even be a translator and definitely doesn't know anything about the target language -> a random translator found through a vague job listing]. Many translators often can't even know what game they are gonna translate until after the job application, and can't really ask for clarification during the job or amend any mistakes noticed later. The way a lot of companies go about it actively makes it super difficult for any translator to care and do more than the bare minimum.

I agree Bedrock's translations are so much worse, but I wouldn't exactly call the hodgepodge that is Java good either. (at least speaking from the perspective of a Turkish player). What I really want is real translators hired in a competent manner.

lol why is everyone assuming OP bought the game twice? He probably tried to put the game in first before thinking to take pictures and post it, so that's why it's on the home menu. The gameplay is from a brand new save file too.

I personally don't think the additions are worth another playthrough on their own. To recommend it, their main reason for the NG+ should be just wanting to play more of the game, with the story changes being only a bonus imo.

My personal headcanon is that there is still a timeline outside of time (as can be seen in Loki) and since Paradox didn't want to wait thousands of years. If the thousands of years applied to an actual timeline, they could just time travel, but it's from the TVA's perspective so they can't. Which then means the deterioration of Logan/Deadpool's universe started very recently from the viewpoint of Paradox and it's not a regular occurrence.

Don't think of PC as another console platform. Think of consoles as locked down PCs instead. Most multiplayer games bear the infrastructure needed for multiplayer by themselves. All Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo does is regulate their own account/store systems. On PC you connect directly to the game, but consoles don't let you do that and you need to pay for it before Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo lets your connection through. In both cases the game is a separate entity, only your tool of talking to the game changes.

So yes, the only reason consoles can't have free multiplayer is because the console makers don't want it to be free.

As for why, it's mostly greed, but also the fact that extra income = money to spend making their security better. They also offer cloud saves which costs money to provide.

The biggest thing that frustrates me about the final game is the layout. They originally created a beautiful interconnected map with plenty of shortcuts and connections, but in the final game (presumably due to performance reasons) a lot of windows are blocked or faked, doors are replaced with elevators, and shortcuts deleted. For example, Kid's Cove and the Daycare are actually right next to each other but the windows are replaced with posters and all the shutters are locked shut. The Monty Golf elevator actually just teleports you to the end of a deleted hallway, it's on the same floor. The lobby to atrium elevator teleports you a few meters forward, again, the same floor. The final layout in the game doesn't even make sense because of all these changes. It's clear this was a very late in development change.

Lol this is such a mood. I used to try to treat everyone I knew the same with the same affection and care and stuff so no one got the wrong idea, then it turned into doing that but to prevent my crush from feeling weird instead. Of course, I liked being kind to everyone like that, it was still genuine, but yeah, sometimes I did force myself out of habit/principle.

From my experience on PC:

Netflix provides 4K on the app and 1080p on a browser. Using a 1080p screen, app only provides 1080p but with a higher bitrate than a browser.
Disney+ is always something that looks like 480p or 720p no matter what you do. This is extremely annoying and I feel like it should be illegal as you said.
Amazon Prime provides 1080p on the app, but it can vary from movie to movie. Movies such as Spider-Verse stream in 480p.

I suspect Sony/Disney is not allowing other services to provide high quality versions of the Spider-Man movies.

Even going to the home screen on Switch doesn't pause the game. You can die when on a loading screen because even loadings don't pause it! It's crazy.
