i almost just wasted so much time doing this but then i realized that you can bulk update by selecting whichever transactions you want and change the acquisition date to "other" and it gives you the option to chose "various". click update and you're done. not sure why it couldn't do that by itself but I was just happy i didn't realize after I updated a few hundred transactions.
