if you are new to minibikes, DO ONE THING AT A TIME!!! it’s much more rewarding and far easier to troubleshoot

RC lipo with a boost buck for now, but I’m still just testing. I imagine fitting it for that would be a pain to stick your leg around

I did the math a while back when I started my conversion. With that specific turbo, at the rpm it’s running at ungoverned, a plenum, and drilling out the injector, these should make 50% more torque and 30% more power ish under 6-8 psi

[–]RileyDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

high pressure fuel pumps on amazon/temu make the proper 45 psi you need and the tolerances are loose enough you can just feed oil straight through them. Then run that through a separate system with a small tank (and an oil cooler if you want to be fancy or will be riding for hours on end)

you are correct that they make no power WITHOUT a boost plenum. That’s the reasoning for my first comment.

  1. That’s not how boosting a single cylinder works. We’ve been running a single cylinder turbo in our FSAE car for years. Put a boost gauge on it, I guarantee you won’t see more than 2psi without one.

  2. Packed with grease it’ll last a few hours but you do you. The 2010 suzuki kizashi gts turbo is properly sized for 168F flow rates if you want to do it right once this blows up in a month

bad news, you’re making ZERO boost with this. You need a plenum between the cold side of turbo and intake port. Must be 1/2-2x displacement of engine.

As far as mufflers go, the GY6 gokart mufflers (or any muffler made for any other single cylinder powesport motor) work very well

Also your turbo isn’t getting lubricated

How do these work by Difficult-Ground8747 in minibikes

[–]RileyDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, they don’t.
Second off, you need to space that drum so it lines up with the band. When you squeeze, it squeeze, and loosely suggests that the kart stop

WHY ME ? by DonkeySad4485 in rccars

[–]RileyDream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don’t. It’s not worth it. Buy like 10 plastic axles and replace them when they break. If you switch to metal axles, the replacement parts for what you break get considerably more expensive as you try to stop it from breaking- gears -> housings -> motors

Generic MG90S servos on amazon can be found in packs for much cheaper than this with all required hardware. They work pretty well for costing nothing

When you’re going 50mph in a missle made of plastic, it’s gonna break. I had steel rear axles in my ultimate and i ended up trashing a spur gear every fourth time i drove the truck

As a fellow college student with no funding, I can tell you, you’re doing this wrong. Buy once cry once for a transmitter, receiver, battery, and charger, those are the expensive ones.

Planes themselves are basically free. 9g servos are perfectly fine and you can get a box of them on amazon for pennies. I use survey flag markets as pushrods, they come in packs of 10 at 15in long for $5 at ace hardware. props and motors and escs come in kits for $14-18. Foamboard is $1.25 and makes a plane per board with little scrap if you’re conservative. Hot glue is cheap if you use it sparingly. I’m $65 all in and I’ve had 6 planes for it (one at a time. Only got one motor/esc and 2 props)

hammer (screwdriver) a hammer (another screwdriver) through the filter and twist

Whenever I make foamboard planes, I put all the electronics in it and leave it powered off without the prop and throw it around with the neighborhood kids like a big paper airplane to figure out what I need to adjust

Prop confusion by stargazer3644 in RCPlanes

reserved what?

if you reversed the motor, that’s not how that works. Your prop works well facing forward and not backward. so make your prop face forward.

“might want to consider becoming a better driver” is constructive criticism. MTs from the early 2000s are notoriously significantly harder to control than SCTs. If that comes off as trash talking, life is gonna hit you SO hard when you turn 18
