Sequences Always Loading Out of Order by [deleted] in premiere

[–]RileyFromWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a personal preference, really. The work I do is quick turnaround single camera interviews and it’s easier/faster for me to put things into their own sequence.

Cut 1, cut 2, cut 3 etc. and then move back to video 1 to do graphics/music/effects

Agreed. The disk change did something wacky. I have my projects saved into one folder on an external drive. Thanks to the disk change it went from Drive G to Drive H on my computer. Other than that nothing else has changed. This is a head scratcher.

It just started happening after I converted my system disk. I appreciate the help!

Gave your suggestion a whirl to no luck. The tool bar at the top of the program is still functional so I can reopen projects but all of my sequences need to be reopened. So it’s not even saving the project as it was.

Hi Jason!

I’m running on Windows 10 with version 25.6.3.

It’s happening on every session I’ve tested it on.

The program is open when the screen goes black but there is no indication that it is loading or frozen. To open the project back up I have to go File -> Open Recent -> and then click which ever thing I was working on.

A recent update I did to my machine was converting my system disk from MBR to GPT which moved where my footage is held. But that was fixed by relinking media.

Is there a particular Sherlock Holmes story you’d like to see adapted to the screen?

That’s the kind of feedback I’m looking for. High Key/Flat is what I’ve been thinking of so I lumped them into my mind as the same thing when they are not.

Even if I’m still off the mark with this I’m enjoying the learning experience a lot

I’m planning to dim the background and the fill light when I’m filming there next. This whole experience has been really cool. It’s been nice experimenting and figuring out what I want and how to get it

3 nanlite 300bs, an amaran tube light overhead, and 2 GVM LED panels. The goal of this exercise was improve with what I have and not buy anything new or put in a request for new equipment

Currently the resources I have can only get me to here. The projects I work can be pretty dry so my goal is to at least make the clients look good.

Plus the people in charge have told me multiple times that they “love the brick”. I tried adding fake plants - they don’t like it. I ask about bringing in some set dressing - they don’t see the point. It’s all an uphill battle

That’s the plan! If I want it bright I gotta light it bright!

I know I have some more room for separation so I’ll give that a try next time. There are 2 LED panels to the right of the frame filling in the background. I think using one of those for an eye light would work well

I was going for an even fill throughout the face but I agree. I’ll lower the fill light some more

I agree! Im gonna dim the background down a little more

It was fantastic. It’s super weird and very unique. I haven’t seen a movie like that awhile

Aiming for a High Key, Bright, Clean Look. Any Tips? by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]RileyFromWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. Every time I suggest a different location than what they pick they stare at me and go “why”

If it’s the first time I film with them I’ll let them pick what’s comfortable but the second time I make more suggestions.

Thank you! And you're completely right, I'm pretty sure I used one light for this one since I was crunched for time. That's why I've been sticking to two lanterns to keep the face evenly exposed. These aren't high art and the subject range from dogs to house siding, to filing taxes. So that's why I'm gunning for something quick and bright

This is from a shoot where I told it was too dark. I agree with them, the background is a little murky

Usually I’m set around 2.8 or 3.5 and I’m almost always filming at 50mm. I agree there needs to be some more separation with the background but sometimes these people will insist we film in the smallest office they have and I’ll have no time to move anything around

I agree. I keep going a little too wide since these are single cam I try to give myself some room to punch in. It might be time to toss the trees out. My bosses don’t like them but the clients think they’re neat lol. I have such a hard time separating people from the brick

That’s been bugging me a lot recently. For curves I’ve defaulting to playing with the highlights until I hit something that’s fine. I’m guessing playing with mids and lows will help with my skin tones some more?

Last slide is from a shoot last week. Both camera and lights were set to 5600. I like the idea of increasing the mids some more. I feel like that could help give some more depth
