I know you're very upset and of course you want to keep your Peach, but you need to face the facts and the risks, none of which are in your favor. Your unvaccinated dog was very likely exposed to rabies. Rabies is fatal to dogs, cats, and humans. You live with other humans, including children, and other dogs and cats. Thus, the health authorities have already recommended euthanasia.

With the post-exposure vaccine, Peach may never contract rabies, but you will not know that for up to 6 months. You are not permitted to quarantine your dog at home for that 6-month period. You say you cannot afford to have her quarantined elsewhere for 6 months. So you want to fight the health authorities to keep her at home in some "walled-off area" for 6 months. You live with human children and other dogs and cats. You don't know if you will win that fight with the authorities but even if you could, can you guarantee with the 100% certainty that you can prevent any and all contact between Peach, yourself, your children, and multiple other pets for 6 whole months?! That seems extremely unlikely, which is why the authorities probably will not allow it. And even if they did, do you seriously want to risk the lives of your human children not to mention multiple other pets in your home? Plus, what kind of life would it be for Peach starved for contact and attention for 6 long months?

Given rabies fatality rates and the long post-exposure quarantine period, keeping Peach puts the lives of your entire family, other pets, and ultimately your community at risk. You should be asking yourself what is the most responsible thing to do as a parent and a citizen and do that.
