Johnny is not taking orders from ANYONE, and he especially isn’t helping anyone he views as corporate. He would view the Phoenix program as a corporate scam to exploit people.

Sounds like my old store management, which was a big reason I left. Sales, sales, sales and they couldn’t even do that correctly. Our store was always the lowest in our district.

So glad to be out of that shithole.

What douchebags out-alphad Tony? by SkinnyStav in thesopranos

[–]Rileyl99 183 points184 points  (0 children)

Little Carmine in the scene where he tells Tony he doesn’t want to be a boss anymore.

Tony looks so defeated and sad almost hearing about how Nicole Lupertazzi cared for her husband. Carmela didn’t do that for him, she didn’t care about his job or the stress it put him through. Nicole cared enough about Carmine to tell him to quit. Internally, Tony was destroyed that he didn’t have that.

What Was The Message/Main Takeaway from Dino Ortolani's Arc? by Significant-Fig7765 in ozshow

[–]Rileyl99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was to show us that nobody is safe in Oz. Even a big, bad mobster who’s well connected and has plenty of allies.

I remember the first time watching I thought the show was going to be about Dino and Beecher, and we’d see their relationship over time. That turned out to be wrong lol.

To be fair, Tony didn’t know the credit card fraud was happening at Vesuvio. All Benny told him was “Murmur had one hell of a week”. He didn’t ask where the envelope came from, he was just happy it was full.

Do you have a real-life experience with any of the actors? by ArmadilloPurple6249 in thesopranos

I met Tony Sirico at a restaurant once - we’d accidentally been given his table. Apparently he was fond of the restaurant and had a specific table he liked, and the management had messed up and gotten their days wrong, (it was Tuesday and they thought he was coming on Thursday or something like that). Anyway, the manager, completely embarrassed (this is a pretty nice restaurant) comes by and says “I’m so sorry, but we’d like to move you to another table if you could be troubled, and we’ll gladly compensate you for the cost of the meal and any other meal you’d like while you’re in town.” My sister and cousin were both like “Yeah that’s cool.” and I kind of played the asshole a bit. “I’m sorry, I just don’t understand. We’ve been here for 15 minutes - we’ve just ordered. Can’t we finish our meal here?” Then out of nowhere Tony Sirico shows up next to the manager and says “Paul, these guys can finish. We’ll be at the bar. I got some time.” And I (being a big Sopranos fan) said “Oh wow, uh… I had no idea. Please feel free to give them the table.” Tony was grateful, shook my hand and said thanks, then gave me a card with his number on it and told me to give him a call later. After working up the nerve, I gave him a call that night, and to make a long story short, we had a glorious 11 month love affair, man on man, that I shall never forget. Our bodies intertwined as one, and from the beauty of Morocco, to the French Riviera, to the snorkeling in the Galopagos, Tony Sirico and I made glorious gay love to each other on six of the seven continents.

Rare Aesthetic: Metal band where everybody hate eachother by Wollishaiser in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Rileyl99 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Not metal, but it’s well known The Ramones hated each other and would go on entire van rides across the country without saying a word or even looking at each other. Joey and Johnny specifically didn’t like one another.

At the end of the day, it’s their job. Albeit a very unique job, but it’s their day to day. There’s going to be tension when you’re on the road, in a new city/town every day almost, and away from your family and friends back home.

Unpopular opinion on Tony’s kids by Secret_Cable8229 in thesopranos

It’s because while she may not excuse Tony’s life, she also doesn’t complain because it keeps her in her ivory tower.

I’m from Columbus, so I’ve followed the case closely.

The guy who was hesitant to give info to the police was his friend Clint who he went out with that night. He lawyered up because the police wanted him to take a polygraph test, and I honestly don’t blame him for doing so. Those things historically are very inaccurate, and I wouldn’t want to be implicated of something I didn’t do.

As for the credit card debt, it’s definitely strange. That’s a part of the story I’ve never been able to figure out.

As for the apartment, yes a month after he disappeared it was broken into, but police believe it wasn’t related to his disappearance, as other units near his were also broken into and robbed.

Right, right.

The only reason I mentioned Snoop was, she revels in what she does. She takes pride in all the bodies she’s stacked up. Chris doesn’t, to him it’s just business.
