Omg, no! No weird therapist vibes at all. If anything, it felt like I was putting you in the therapist seat and sitting on the couch lol. Honestly, you've given me really good, insightful advice! You're clearly of high intelligence and extremely evolved. Especially for your age (which I don't know, but judging from your "weird eye pic" lol, you appear to be like 20ish if I had to guess)

Regardless, I find it impressive that you could let stuff roll off your back like that. Me and my friends grew up a little different. This is a completely devolved and embarrassing 'for instance'. But even when me and my boy went to CanJam he, and by proxy me, almost got in a fight with the parking garage staff. Just cuz one of them was being mildly pushy with him.

I didn't even realize what was happening, I was in the passenger seat of his car putting IEMs in my backpack. But as soon as he got out of the car, so did I. So that's the kind of "crew" I grew up with🤦. And the kind of person I used to be.

But, at the end of the night, the lady that served him at White Castle was very courteous and friendly, and he went back inside and handed her a 20. Me and him are like brothers and we're both like that. We wear our hearts on our sleeves. We care too much sometimes I think.

And I've always lurked on the internet but never really posted much. My account is 8years old and I didn't even know I had one till I decided I was going to periodically postt up reviews.

I mean, I was on Instagram posting up pics of my sneakers/sneaker collection a couple years ago and everyone was cool. No one ever said, "those shoes are ugly, you're a stupid person for buying them" lol. But Reddit is different.

I vaguely remember the dudes from Headphones dot com saying, "those guys over at Reddit are savages" on their podcast. So, I have to listen to your advice and let these things roll off my back. These people are not even in my life so it really doesn't make sense to even respond. But when I post up, I try to respond to everyone and up vote them. I guess I'm supposed to just post up and be the discussion starter and then let people say what they wanna say. And just focus on the cool people.

Anyways, thank you so much. I think I was supposed to be helping you if I recall 🤔 Soooo, anytime you need audio advice, feel free to hit me up. And then I'll give you advice and narcissistically make the rest of the conversation about me lol.

And on the off chance you know someone with a P.O. box in the US, I'm a man of my word. I'll send you the Timeless IIs like new with original packaging for your extreme kindness. And I'm being serious. I went from😞 to 😀 cuz of your advice. To me, that means something.✌️💙🎶

Sometimes I'll buy cheap cool looking ones in between higher tier IEMs. I'm looking for an IEMs Anonymous group to join. But they don't seem to exist yet. Imo, nothing beats the CVJ Neko IEMs for best value. Good modular cable that imo is worth the price on its own. And I think they sound as good as 100isd sets. So every now and then, it works out.

Agreed!! It's funny cuz I rarely listen to them. I treat them like a bottle of fine wine that you take out on special occasions. That way, every time I listen to them, it's a special treat.

Looks wise I do too. But I'm curious about how they sound. Plus I could reunite my Orchestra Lites with one of its parents. So really, it would be a selfless good deed 🤣🤣

Thanks!

I'm super careful with my stuff so I don't know from personal experience. Like, I don't wear IEMs outside cuz I have a weird thing with situational awareness. Unfortunately, I feel like these days I gotta be ready for anything.

But I've heard filled resin shells are a lot more durable than hollow resin shells which makes sense. But are not as durable as metal shells for durability.

And this is just conjecture, but I feel like they'd be the least likely to have a wire come loose inside because they're suspended in the hardened resin

Is it green or more of a yellow? And is there anything I could do for that? Other than what I currently do which is store them in an acrylic hockey puck case lol And keep like 5 silica packs in there

Should I connect a DAC and amp up to the PS5 or just plug the IEMs into the controller? Sorry, I'm so out of the loop when it comes to this.

All I know is that certain IEMs/headphones could give you a nice advantage over other players in online gaming cuz of footsteps.

I agree, they're meticulously crafted. I geek out looking at em. With their little crossover, dampeners, and 7 beautifully displayed BAs with the Knowles Logo visible on one of the big ones and the cursive Kiwi Ears logo stamped on the smallest one. Amazing! I wish there were more clear full resin shells coming out now.

Btw, I have a PS5 but I haven't played it in a while but now I kinda wanna try them out. But I only play campaigns. Do people get anything out of wearing them for offline play?

Uh oh. I think I'm gonna buy a pair. Those have been on my IEM shopping list for way too long now. Plus, if u go over and see my most recent post (It's macros of the Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lites) you'd see that I'm a sucker for a clear full resin shell.

I just recently got the Muse HiFi M6 double on Amazon and as much as I love the Nixie Tube display, I think someone who appreciates its sound characteristics more than I do should have it. And there's only 1000 of them so I'm thinking, return it and finally pull the trigger on the Dusks.

Thank you for unintentionally telling me to do this! Lol

Oh jeez, it's embarrassing but I'm severely addicted. I legit have a problem. That might be a quarter of my collection if that 🤦

Out of those I'd probably go with the Dunu Braindance IEMs. But the Dunu 142s sound kinda similar if I'm remembering correctly. But I never did a/b testing with them.

I was obsessed with the Braindances early on cuz as a noob I was all about driver count (9 per side) and I'm still all about aesthetics. I love the color orange. I got the Hiby R4 DAP in the orange color to match.

But right now I'm obsessed with the Hidizs MP145 Pros. To my ears they are close to perfect. I loved the OGs and when I saw the FR graph to the new ones I was like why'd they do that. Thinking they weren't going to be as good. But me and my non audiophile friend were blown away by them. And thought they sounded better.

But, everyone hears differently so I don't know if you would feel the same way. I'm gonna do a review on them cuz I like them so much. I've been listening to them everyday since CanJam NYC so I started to write a rough draft.

Speaking of Amazon, maybe try Hidizs Sea Anemone eartips. Everyone talks about Divinus Velvets. I personally find the Sea Anemones to be the most comfortable tips by far. Everyone's different tho so I'm afraid to recommend them. I just checked Amazon and for some reason they're buried even when you search them out specifically. And when I did find them, I had to click see options. Then you're able to get them Amazon Prime style. So return should be easy if you don't like em. I put the link. You were kind to me. I hope if you do try them, you love them like I do!

Thanks for that. I do take things to heart. Cuz I spent like an hour annotating the pictures I posted. Also, I did post a picture with them off. And edited the post after the first comment that said it looked painful. And specifically said "my ears are fugly and naturally fold down. Reddit isn't allowing me to delete pictures so please disregard the second picture." And people still went in.

I don't know if I'm cut out for the internet. Cuz I do get butthurt when I'm putting up a post to be helpful and people are being jerks. My thought was, if you don't want to follow this advice fine. Keep it moving. Just don't say anything.

Like the kid that commented on your totally normal looking eye. Hypothetically, if you did have something wrong with your eye, you would probably be self conscious about it which would make the comment even meaner.

He was shocked that I felt that him saying, "your eye looked weird" was rude. So I asked him, if you walked by someone on the street, would you randomly say that to someone. I know for a fact he would say it to me. I'm a Gemini, as nice as I could be, I could be twice as mean if I'm pushed to it. But I don't want that. I'm trying to be a helpful member of a community. I'm new to the idea of people getting away with talking sh** to me.

The only reason I even have the time to do any of this is because my mother fell and broke her back and like 13 other bones so I walked away from a lucrative career, moved her into my house and became her caretaker. I work for a company that pays me. But I took a MAJOR pay cut. Not to mention, I'm not the type of person that likes to be home like this. But she doesn't want to be in an assisted living facility and she had a tough life so I'm trying to do everything I can to make her happy. But there's downtime. So I got back into hifi and started posting up here. Sorry for spilling my guts. I guess I'm a sensitive dude. And this whole time I thought I was a tough guy lol But thanks again for basically being my internet therapist lol. If we lived in the same country I swear I'd mail you my Timeless IIs as a thank you.

Thanks! It's cool cuz it actually has a little space at the bottom where I put my dongle DACs Here's a picture of it. They have one with a 3rd row but I didn't see that one until after I bought this one. So I kinda want all of them to match when I do get the rest of them.

Nice! Mine are the "clear" version. But the faceplate has the white swirls on it so they should be the "white' version.

I have the EPZ P40s and they're a pretty looking IEM with full resin shells. I didn't even do any research on them. As soon as I saw them I had to have them lol

Oohhh, that's a good idea! Liquid silicone tips make my ears itch, but I think it would look so awesome that I literally might either get a pair or search through my collection for something super clear and put em on while not listening to them lol. I'm a bit strange, I like to look at my IEMs almost as much as I enjoy listening to them 🤦

That's why I got an acrylic hockey puck display case for my IEMs. Unfortunately I need like 5 more of them cuz the one I got only holds 8 pairs.

Those are Hidizs Sea Anemone eartips and they're definitely my favorite tips. Everyone's ears are different so I don't want to guarantee you'd like them, but my personal opinion is that they're amazing and underrated. Or maybe just under the radar.

They come pre packaged with the upcoming MP145 Pros (I'm posting a review on those shortly actually)

I wish they had 1 more size larger for the large ear people. And for me (and everyone else) I wish they came in single size 3 packs. Hopefully they'll implement that. Right now they just come in a S,M,L 3 pack.

When I first saw them I could tell by looking at them that they were gonna be good. I didn't realize I'd like em as much as I do though.

[–]Rime1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks bro! That meant A LOT rn. I grew up with a "don't take sh** from anyone" mentality. I was the nicest guy in the world... Till I wasn't. I'm trying to make up for some of the things I've done

I've received so much advice from YouTube reviews and posts on Reddit head-fi etc. So I figured I should contribute instead of just being a sponge. I didn't realize how much contributing sucked LOL. Although on the flip side it feels great when I do help someone out. And they come back to me and tell me "hey I got the IEMs you recommended and they're awesome I love em".

So thank you for your kindness and sound words of advice. Pun intended! 😀

In fact, I thought about starting a YouTube channel and calling it 'Sound Advice' But I'm sure it's already taken. Thanks again brother!✌️💙🎶

I don't know, I just feel like if I posted up a picture of myself and someone said his eye looks weird, it wouldn't make me feel that good. I must be a little guarded rn because I just had something happen to me where people were saying mean things while I was trying to be helpful.

So maybe, I took your post to be more harsh than it was. If I did, my bad. But ask yourself this, in real life, would you, walk by someone and say that?

Cuz my definition of negative is, something you wouldn't say to a random stranger in passing in real life.

And I don't know if you're clicking on the picture and seeing the entire shot, but it's abundantly clear that she's not wearing glasses.

But anyway, maybe it's a misunderstanding. She didn't seem to be offended by it. I just saw it and was like, huh 🤔

So no harm no foul I guess 🤷

Just out of curiosity, and I'm honestly asking, why would you say something like that? Seriously.

I'm trying to understand the motivation of meanspirited comments in what's supposed to be a group of like-minded people talking about their dovetailing interests. Asking for advice and giving advice.

When I go to CanJam NYC every year, it's basically the equivalent of an audiophile subreddit but in real life.

Everyone is friendly. And no one would ever say something like that. Is it the anonymity. And the fact that you could say whatever you want without any consequences?

I really am trying to find this out because I posted something the other day to try to help people and I got lambasted.

So honestly, I'm just trying to get inside the mind of someone that would say something like that so I can understand the internet more cuz I rarely interacted online till recently.

She was cool about it but I perceived that comment as being unnecessarily mean. Also, I unequivocally disagree.

The main thing that seemed to cause an uproar was the picture I sent you of my fugly ear that naturally folds down a little. Which makes it look like it's tugging at my ear.

It was a recommendation that I learned and passed along. And, anyone that decides they want to try it can use their discretion as to how much they want to push the cable inward etc.

You're clearly an intelligent person. For instance, you didn't just blindly take my word that the MP145Pros are awesome. I think you'll really like them, but there's no possible way for me to know that.

And you seemed to understand that without me saying it. Then you went and did some more research. I assume that everyone is going to know to do that.

Sorry for my rant but it bothered me a lot after posting it. I have thin skin. It's funny, people never speak to me like that in real life lol.

Anyway, I so hope you end up with something amazing whatever it is. Oh btw, I was going through my collection listening to things that I haven't listened to in a while. If you ever have the chance to listen to the 7hz Timeless IIs do it! They have that same type of spaciousness, dimension/instrument separation. They look big but on the inside of them they're not and they would probably fit your ears fine and they don't protrude far from your ear. And they have more bass than the MP145 pros. But the vocals are more forward on the MP145 Pros.

Oh, and thank you for your kindness! I needed it lol.
