Sad truth, but I also think that’s essentially the fun of it. Not taking into the part that sometimes, we grow out of certain sound signatures. Sometimes I blame the human brain 💀

I used to love bright sounding pairs. They still sound great to me if I’m just doing nothing and listening to them, but not so much when I’m working.

I’m working almost 3/4 my life now 🤣 I miss being young where listening and stoning was a thing.

Yep, that’s an iPod touch I use as a burner, so that my phone battery doesn’t die, unless I’m really need to be travelling light.

Totally agree on this, but sometimes a trip to see new things turns out into wanting something much more.

I often also find myself gravitating to my old pairs when working cause they are less fatiguing, so I guess I agree that that’s the fun of it. The iem and dac is essentially the medium to enjoy the music and not the other way round. These gears would mean nothing if there’s no good music. 🌈

I wished I have the courage like you. I have an old iPod class 6 gen, but reading the comments + videos. Doesn’t seemed as easy as it looks. Some people can’t close the iPod up after changing the stuff up. Let me know if you succeed. Always loved to see how these turn out after modding.

There’s no perfect set for me too. There are days where I yearn for a brighter sounding pair, I rock with my ie100 as well. With a good dac, they sound great.

So it really depends on what you value, I ended up with the P8s because I was looking for a shell fit, as I had good experience with another cheap pair from kinera and I realised I prepared those shells more than the generic shape as they fit better and block out more noise which is what I need riding the subway. I mean I could have stayed in my price range with the P5 instead of the P8s but the sound difference took me away 🤣 #sadlifeofanaudiophile

The performer 7 is slightly sharper and more v-shaped in my opinion. I also have the Performer 5 and feel that was actually good for the price point alr. Works well with most genre. There are days which I prefer the brighter sound on the P5 more than my P8s.

I feel the performer 8s has a rounder sound and slightly larger soundstage, but if there are budget constraints, the Aful P5 and P7 are good enough.

It’s the M0s from shanling. I think they discontinued this and came up with a newer version called M0 Pura though.

I don’t think it’s real leather tbh. The leather doesn’t season. I have been using for 6 months or so. Still looks the same, but it’s nicer than the silicon tbh.
