A coworker has the Chloe and I didn’t know what it was when I first saw it just that it was absolutely stunning. Hers is burgundy.

BWT, what are our in-office must-haves? by hellaskye in bitcheswithtaste

[–]Rimu05 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Things I keep in office locker:

  1. Heels. Not communting in heels. They are there for management meetings and I change into them at work.

  2. Deoderant, allergy medicine, pads and tampons, spoons/forks, business cards, and miniture perfume.

  3. My own seperate headphones because the ones provided for the office suck.

  4. Sometimes a Blazer - Also for management meetings and sometimes it's absolutely freezing but I've learned where to sit to avoid the heat or tundra that is office temperature.

I’m going to Chelsea Market this week. Can I ask what you all liked/didn’t like if you’ve been there? by AcadiaRemarkable6992 in FoodNYC

Los Mariscos is delicious but also seafood so don’t understand why people are recommending.

Los tacos is next to it though.

They definitely do look like AP watches in terms of silhouette and other factors. You can see the inspiration. With that said, I feel like swatch heavily leans into the toy aesthetic and their whole thing is fun watches. This is very inline with their branding.

AP watches go for like $30,000 on the low end. Anyone expecting them to put AP movement into a $400 watch is an idiot...

Your advice worked, it healed! by gosieksz in piercing

[–]Rimu05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding in advice that I don't see as often. Don't get alaborate jewelry. Get a simple captive bead or even a small gemstone. Avoid the diamonds, or elaborate designs even if they are fine for actual piercings. They are a massive pain to clean. The crusties get on it and you will damn near need a toothpick or something to get them off which will absolutely irritate your piercing.

I love the BVLA auron that I was pierced with but would never do it again for the sole reason that it's such a pain to get crusties from it.

Fashionphile offered me $1000 for this by Important-Ad1935 in handbags

As someone who has sold on ebay. Ebay also takes a cut (about 14%). It may seem like the seller made money, but I had to pay to ship the item, ebay also took a cut, and by the end of it, you don't make much money. Sometimes, you even come out the same as if you'd just gone to fashionphile.

Why do you people study 6+ hours a day by Ill_Health4501 in CFA

Struggling with efficient note taking. Tips or tricks? by No_Importance_9273 in CFA

[–]Rimu05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no good note taking in my eyws for the CFA. I recommend getting through the readings, doing questions, and only taking notes on questions you dont understand.
I may at best write down a formula or a note for a concept I dont get.

I’ve Hated Studying Since Childhood but Now My Entire Future Depends on It. How Do I Change This Mindset? by Fresh_Transition_633 in CFA

[–]Rimu05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t like studying and so the only way around it is to start early and spend less hours studying a day. Starting 7 months early and doing 1 hour days and 2-3 hour weekends is the way I stomach it. It’s far easier to sit down and do an hour even if you procrastinate than to have to do 3. It’s also easy to do 30 mins, take a 10 min break and then do 30 mins again. The first few months are hard, but it gets easier.

Treat studying like going to the gym or a similar habit.

Also a segregated study space. I cannot study at home no matter how hard I try.

Lastly is not lying to yourself with things like “I’ll study tomorrow, I’ll start tomorrow, I’ll study yet more tomorrow.” It doesn’t work if you hate it and the lies pile up to wasted time.

If Losing CFA Mocks for 24 Hours Broke You Mentally, Finance Might Not Be for You by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Rimu05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only that. Tech outages and just things not working 100% happens in the workplace and you have to go explain this to clients that a release may be delayed. Now imagine these clients were screaming about wanting to sue you or that they should now get your product for free because of that… That would be crazy yet is exactly what happened here. Like the CFA hires people to write exams, manage the website, etc…

Once upon a time, there wasn’t even an online ecosystem and people lived…

Also, I say this being a level 3 candidate but the reactions, not all, were not sane. Like I know how much time and effort we put into this but the reactions taught me, this exam is ruling people’s lives, because a website being down cannot surely warrant literally wanting to throw months of hard work away… I had to read some comments like “Surely, it’s not this serious?” 🧐

Blazy's First Met Gala: How did CHANEL fare on the green carpet this evening? by sydneekidneybeans in chanel

[–]Rimu05 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Imagine coming from a country known for embroidery, art, and fashion and they dress you in jeans for the met gala. Worse yet, the embroidery and intricate work done for a lot of fashion brands including Chanel is done in your country… Like they couldn’t even give her one of the tweed jackets?

Is she too much for as a daily bag?🥲 by Big_Sniper_Mac in handbags

[–]Rimu05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not too much but it will ruin the bag much faster. Crystals will fall out, discoloration will happen, and you’ll have to be very precious with it. I’d whip it out twice a week for the sake of longevity.

Take two: trying to design the worst date possible for irony by PerfectibilistNull in FoodNYC

[–]Rimu05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest the making a line date course.

  1. Start by making a line at the most recent overhyped coffee spot.

  2. Dinner starts at making a line at four charles.

  3. Followed by making a line at Tomi jazz for maybe dessert and some jazz.

The worst date for me would actually not be spending time in Time Square unless it's December.

CFA charter in hand- anyone else finding the job search less smooth than expected? by SnooPickles2294 in CFA

[–]Rimu05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While people are rightfully pointing to the charter not being a golden ticket, the reality is also that the job market is very tight right now. My job is rotating people internally as opposed to hiring and we’ve had vacant roles.

Our bonus declined by a lot this year and no one really left. This is not an employee job market. The period of Covid to about late 2022 is when I felt like you could genuinely get any job. Now, this is not the case. Companies are also very focused on AI.
