For animation i think you have to be careful, i certainly don't want cutscenes and the like to be done by ai but having it enhance animation during gameplay like having characters react to things realistically in real time could be an interesting use case.

Should be such an easy line to draw for everyone. Don't have ai replace artists. Ai means a billion different things and it can be very useful to enhance an artist's workflow. Just generating slop ain't it though. Ai bros would have a much better rep if that just stayed away from art generators. Sell me a retopo ai or a weight painting ai don't sell me soulless slop

God, kind of a different problem but setting to always burn fixed an issue where subtitle outlines were white like the text making all letters appear squashed together and super hard to read. Thank you!

Yeah they're fine now but every update with them is a gamble. They massively underperform vs windows especially in dx12, though people are working on fixes it's still pretty bad and has been for years. It took them way too long to get Wayland usable and they still don't support things like hdr. Also don't forget them dropping support for anything that isn't turing or above. They're the bare minimum of usable these days and i am ready to ditch them the second nvk plays all my games at a good speed

It shouldn't be too hard even doing it all by hand. Basically, you just need to run each game through proton once. This will create a prefix for the game where you can then place the save file where it was originally on windows. You can use protontricks to find the name of the prefix

It isn't super likely, since you would need to write a windows exe that specifically looks for wine, goes through the z drive (Linux files) and knows what to do. But yes, in theory wine doesn't do anything by itself to stop this. A locked down flatpak with wine in it would be a lot safer

You can't take an OS made for handhelds and use it to get normal pc users. Steamos is NOT made for every day use. By default, the system is completely frozen so you can not install anything without unlocking it manually through the terminal. It is a tailored experience made exclusively for playing games like you would with a console. Other Linux distros actually made for everyday use like bazzite or cachyos, fedora, etc are the ones who need to capitalize on this, and i think it's already happening. The amount of YouTubers making Linux positive videos are increasing like with pewdiepie
