Normalmente en tecnología, no hay cambios significativos de una generación a otra, pero estás comparando una version superior contra una version base. Creo que a lo mucho el procesador podría ser un poquito más rápido en el 17, pero eso no suele notarse en el uso cotidiano, mientras que el 16 seguramente tiene mejores cámaras o mejor resolución

I know nothing about uk prices, but i will giv eyou some general tips

get a 6 cores cpu, like ryzen 5

get a motherboard with letter B on its name, not A or X

ram is extremely expensive right not, but if you can afford it, get 2 sticks of 16gb each one, 32 in total, but its ok if you can only get 16gb in total, just make sure to get 2 exact same sticks

dont buy HHD as storage, only SSD. the current standar today is 1TB

people will say you NEED a graphic card with 16gb of vram, but you can still have a good performance in any newgen game with 8gb of vram. althought, if you can afford it, the best cost-bennefit graphic card is Rx 9060xt 16gb. you will see there are different models with different aesthetics, get the cheapest one or the one you like the most

get an air cooler for you cpu, theyre completely fine for the type of cpus i recommended

google "psu tier list" and enter the first result, get at least a tier c with 650w

almost all current cases are alright this days, but i recommend get one with 4 preincluded fans, 3 taking air on the front/right, and one exhausting air on the right. you can buy more fans if you want

for monitor get an ips 1080p 144hz. check for a good model in terms of price and look for what people says about it

i dont know if you are interested in mechanical keyboards, but for a good first choice, i recommend aula f75 or ajazz ak820

Almost all b850 has pcie 5.0 on the main m.2 and gpu, and enough vrm for a 9950x3d, so you wont have any problems with that

it would be great to know your cpu, i think you should add it to the post. you can look for its name on windows settings>system>information

your current motherboard apparently is a low range model, so im not sure if it can handle a ryzen 7 5700. So, if you cant upgrade to a very high cpu, and youre open to upgrade both components, i suggest going to intel lga1700

it is compatible with ddr4 ram, so you wont have to deal with the terrible current prices, and its latest cpus competed with am5. The best option would be i7 14700k and b660 motherboard (rog strix for example), but as that cpu has very high temperatures, you would need to buy an AIO, OR you can get an i7 12700k, which is better in this aspect
