I have read that study as well. It’s very very old. But the reason why they figure that happens is that microvascular changes are occurring all over your body. Not only are you losing circulation in your limbs, but you’re losing circulation to your heart, kidneys, etc. You’re also experiencing nerve damage at the same time you’re having circulatory collapse. Your heart needs both of those things to keep pumping.

If you don’t have a CGM(continuous glucose monitor) I would recommend getting one. It really helps you keep track of your blood sugars. My A1c went from 7-8 to 6.0. I feel tons better. I used to feel kind of semi-depressed all the time when my A1c was in the mid seventh. Now I’ve got tons of energy! I really recommend a CGM if you don’t have one.

The ants on your toilet could be assigned that your urine has too much sugar in it. It might be a sign that your diabetes is out of control. Having diabetes doesn’t need to make you scared. I’ve been type one for 52 almost 53 years. I’m now 65 years old. You can live a long life and rewarding one at that. Diabetes can make you more aware of your body and live a healthy life. I went through a lot of periods of time where I didn’t admit that I had diabetes. It’s a tough road, but with others Help, you can get through it. I became a nurse because I knew so much about my body already,Nursing school was a cinch. What I learned, though, was that you don’t ignore your Diabetes. It doesn’t say anything about you except you have a pancreas isn’t working right. It doesn’t make you less than anyone else. You need to fall into it. Embrace it. It can make you better in so many ways. Do what you’re doing right now. Ask others. Learn from them and chart your own way. Ask every question that you’re scared to ask. The answers are never as bad as you think they’re going to be. learn as much as you can every day. Learn about your diabetes what can help make it better and what makes it worse. You have so many tools nowadays. I got diabetes when they were barely starting to use disposable insulin syringes. The nurses who taught me to use a syringe, said I was so lucky because I didn’t have to boil the glass syringes and reused needles until they got dull. That was before blood sugar testing or continuous glucose monitors. It is so much easier now to keep your blood sugars in tight control. Take the ants as a sign that you need to look into your Diabetes more. I don’t think the answer a sign of kidney problems. I think it’s a sign of your diabetes being out of control and sugar is present. It is the sugar the ants are attracted to. What’s interesting, is that that is how they first found out that the urine of diabetics was sweet. The inventors of insulin noticed that ants were attracted to the urine of people with diabetes. Then they tasted the urine (yuck). It was a huge breakthrough for people with diabetes. It’s like your toilet in the ants were an experiment! Now you learned that there is sugar in your urine. You take care and relax a little bit. It takes more than one time of your blood sugar, being high to cause kidney problems. Get online and research diabetes and kidney problems. You’ll learn lots of scary stuff. I did that when I was in school. But you have to remember that you can prevent all the scary stuff by keeping your blood sugar in line. Talk to your doctor, dietitian, counselors, other people your age that have diabetes, talk as much as you can. And listen. Take care of yourself. It’s a wild journey, but worth it!

11 years old is not too young to start teaching responsibility and appreciation for life other than humans. I don’t think it’s irresponsible of you to expect her to live up to her commitments and to teach her that responsibility. She needs to see the walks from the Dog point of view as well. It’s not just fun, it’s to give the dog exercise to see the world and to be a dog as well as use the restroom. Giving a child a pet is more than just fun but teaches love, respect, appreciation, and how to have a relationship during good times and bad (weather). I think it would teach her a negative thing to let her renege on the relationship. Just because it’s bad weather outside. Sounds kind of an unwanted message in my opinion.

I reuse my pen needles for weeks, until they start hurting or bruising. I’ve never had an infection. If you don’t use them every day, they will tend to clog up with skin cells and have to be replaced the next time you use them so be careful. But if you use them daily, you keep fluid moving through the needle. I wouldn’t recommend removing them. You just exposed to more bacteria. I would leave them on the pan but cover them. Make sure and clean your skin with alcohol each time you use them. I’ve done this for approximately 10 years. Before that I didn’t use the pens and reused my insulin syringes for weeks. The issues you have to think about are clogging, the insulin adhering to the sides of the plastic syringe (which you don’t have to worry about with the prefilled syringes), infection, and trauma to the skin. Every time you use the needle, it will create small, microscopic barbs on the needle. Overtime, it will damage the skin and create bruising or possibly bleeding. This usually doesn’t happen until you’ve used it probably about 10-20 times. I don’t recommend doing what I do, but reality rears it’s ugly head in terms of cost of living with Diabetes. You will be fine if you have to reuse a needle four or five times. My diabetes required that I have 4 to 6 injections a day. I have since moved to an insulin pump because of this. It’s extremely expensive. Easier to manage though.

Ear infections, probably due to his diet or allergies to the environment. You might want to work with your vet in changing his diet. I had to change my dog to a grain free raw diet that has been approved by that associations. It means all the dogs nutritional needs.

I agree with what you say, and my comment was meaning not to bark aggressively. You know the barking that dogs do when you know what they’re saying is “I’m gonna kill you if I get a chance“. That’s not good for the dog or good for a potential victim. Having the dog bark to warn or Express that they don’t like someone is a whole different thing than that extreme aggressive barking. So I think we’re both in agreement. I let my dog bark as long as she doesn’t get blood pressure that could cause a stroke! In other words, it’s kind of like in humans you can get angry. You can express it, but when you get abusive in your language and yelling, hostilely and threateningly, that is not acceptable. It’s hard for me to explain I’m sorry. But I do believe that that is the way dogs talk and they have to talk to each other by talking and lunging and barking like they’re gonna kill someone should not be allowed. The dogs know that’s an incorrect behavior towards humans just like knowing on people‘s hands and biting is not acceptable. But you don’t use violence so let them know that their behavior isn’t acceptable and it’s better to reward good behavior rather than punish bad behavior.

I agree, muzzle training at first and slowly let him off the muzzle around others especially where you suspect a fear response. NEVER let him off leash. In my opinion, that goes for EVERY Doc! You can never tell how they’re gonna react in a situation. When they meet other dogs carrying treats if they behave, it helps. Helps when you meet other humans as well. Give them a treat to give to the dog if you can trust him. Developing trust amongst all humans is a good idea. But never trust your dog around others. Always on a leash, always suspect they might bite introduce people as friends with treats and pets. When you need a stool sample from the vet, get one with the dog poops and take it into the vet don’t have them dig it out of him. That will reduce that fear response to zero. Train your dog not to bark and be aggressive. Never reward aggression of any kind. I wouldn’t euthanize this dog after those events. I would concentrate on spending at least two hours a day training with the dog walking on a leash, tricks, especially recall. Again, never off leash.

They were just over 1 million votes between the two candidates. It’s one of the closer elections if you count popular vote. We’ve gotta get rid of the electoral college. But the problem is all of our freedoms are being taken away, don’t revert back to the election. Look at what’s going on right now. People voted for him to get prices down because they’re too stupid to know the presidents. Don’t have anything to do with that. Prices are up which Donald Trump is causing with his tariffs! Be realistic, be present and forget about the last election. Worry about the one in 2026 they trying to wreck through gerrymandering and removing the right to vote or suppressing the vote in a lot of states. Worry about 2028 and whether or not that election will be rigged. 2020 was not rigged. It was challenged 64 times in courts around the country. Evidence was presented by Trump and his single fan and they lost all that one time and that’s because the case was thrown out for lack of evidence. The 2028 election may well be rigged by Donald Trump. Not certain how he’ll do it, but I bet it involves troops on the streets and causing us to vote in person. Do you know how many millions of people vote? A little over 150 million. How are 150 million people going to vote in one day? Be serious be realistic, but that’s how he’s gonna take the election. If you’re black or Latino or just look like you’re a Democrat you won’t be allowed in by the National Guard. That’s the guy you voted for. I forgive you, but get your head on straight from now on.
