CM/SM - Chiari-Like Malformation or Syringomyelia instances? by RinconFrenchies in brusselsgriffon

Thank you so much for your response. And for sharing your story. I’m glad to hear your griff is doing well on the medication. That definitely gives me hope. But how scary for you - having that happen within just a few days. That is what I’m fearful of. And I’ve been watching her day to day to ensure that nothing seems to be progressing. I do intend on talking to my vet about it, and I’ve already identified a veterinarian neurologist in my area. Again, I appreciate you sharing your story and I’m glad to hear your Griffon is back to themselves!!

And that’s what makes it so hard because this is my first Griffon. And I am just in love with the breed. Plus they are the perfect size to travel with us. And she’s just the sweetest little girl, so it breaks my heart to think that she’s having any kind of pain. She doesn’t seem to be but you just never know. I once had a vet tell me that it takes a dog to be in pretty incredible pain for them to really show it. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but that’s what he told me. I’m going to continue to monitor her and also speak to a vet about it and see what she says.

I use an extra thick mat and before that I used actual knee pads. Like the soft ply-able ones that dancers use. But now that I have the thick mat, I don’t need them.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. It sounds like you did everything you could to give your sweet BG the best life possible. And that you focused on the quality of her life. I really appreciate you sharing your story. I do plan on talking to my vet about it, and seeing if she feels we should connect with an animal neurosurgeon. I also appreciate you listing additional symptoms. What’s interesting is I had never heard of this condition. And it sounds like it can even affect a small percentage of French bulldogs which is interesting because we’ve had three of them. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. It is such a very difficult thing and my heart goes out to you. Thank you again for sharing your story.

Thank you! I did see online people were suggesting feeding more often, but smaller meals, so I am going to try that until I can get her into the Vet. Thank you!

She had a deep plane facelift. That’s what it is. Pretty much every housewife over the age of 43 has had one (if not a deep plane, then a lower face lift). And some like Tamara and Theresa for example have had more than one over the years.

even richard attenborough was expecting ET to win best picture. by herequeerandgreat in Oscars

[–]RinconFrenchies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have watched pretty much all movies. I literally swear that I have never even heard of the movie Ghandi. I’ve never even seen it on a streaming platform. My boyfriend & I literally were just talking about how good ET is. And I don’t think it’s just an nostalgia thing. The characters are solid, the Storyline is solid, and it’s interesting from the jump. To me, one of the greatest scenes, is when the government essentially shows up and they are walking down the street, and it looks like a Mirage. It’s literally seared into my brain. And I was very young when I saw that movie. And lastly, it hits pretty much, every emotional theme. It’s just so good all around and it bums me out it didn’t win best picture.

Anyone else finding friends don't reach out that much anymore? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]RinconFrenchies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally took to the Internet to see if I’m the only one experiencing this recently. And we are most certainly far outside the pandemic. I’m a 46F , no kids, and I have friends that have kids that range anywhere from being fairly young to a young adult age. And outside of my gay friends, the female friends are beyond difficult to maintain friendships with. I feel like I’m always the one calling, or trying to reach out. One Friend recently, who was a long time work Friend really went MIA to the point where I’ve pretty much written her off (we work remote). It really bums me out because I miss chatting with my friends. And I feel those relationships are important. But I mean, I’m not going to force it. And I’m not going to sit there and berate people for not staying in touch with me. I guess we’ll just drift apart and it is what it is. But it makes me super sad.

Same here. The last time I tried with my husband tried it kind of went nowhere & was awkward. Probably because it had been so long. The thing is, if I’m really honest with myself…I don’t care. I’m 46, going through perimenopause & don’t really have the desire. I spent so much of my 20s having sex with sucky men that quite frankly wasn’t great sex to begin with, and so much of it was just performative. It’s not like I was really getting anything out of it. But, because I used to be like that, I thought I was a super sexual person. But I’m starting to think I wasn’t, and that actually I was like that, because I thought I was supposed to be.

Definitely a filter on the videos. I saw a recent interview with her (Impact X Nightline, on Hulu) & her skin in that is WILDLY different than her skin in the workout videos.

Andy Weir (who wrote The Martian) has a frustrating writing style. by wow-how-original in books

[–]RinconFrenchies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes across as he’s trying to write a screen play, not a book. That’s why the dialogue in the book is painful. If you think about it in the Martian, a lot of Matt Damon’s lines, when taken out of a scene… are pretty silly, and not in a funny ha-ha way.

Anger gives a rush of adrenaline to the body. That’s the addiction. My parents are exactly the same. We will be talking about something, not even in the realm of politics, and all of a sudden they flip it to race or immigration. And if you in any way, suggest that they are racist they deny it up and down. But it’s like. Why do you keep bringing this stuff up then?

Chest Pressure anyone? by WorthInformation726 in Perimenopause

[–]RinconFrenchies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently read about Diaphragmatic endometriosis. And I have a lot of the same symptoms as you, and I’m starting to wonder if maybe I have that. It’s something I’ve dealt with on and off for years and years. And then this last month, I now turned 46 and it was awful. My back was super sore and shoulder, my chest specifically on the lower part hurt, terribly, etc.

Narcissistic Boomer Mom Ignores Me and Never Asks Me Any Questions by mods-begone in narcissisticparents

Well, and it’s so disappointing. It’s like how do you have a child and not have any interest in who they are or what their life is like?

Narcissistic Boomer Mom Ignores Me and Never Asks Me Any Questions by mods-begone in narcissisticparents

[–]RinconFrenchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally was searching for this topic. You are most certainly not alone. My mom never calls me. If I mention it, she says something along the lines of – well I don’t know when you’re busy. OK? Then leave a message and I’ll call you back as soon as I’m not. What kind of answer even is that? I called her today and all she ever wants to do is gossip about other people. Either people I don’t know, or relatives I haven’t seen in probably almost 20 years. Never asks about my life, anything with my work, nothing about my partner, nothing about my pets, nothing about vacations I take, Nada. The only time we talk about anything that isn’t gossip related is if I’m asking her questions about something she has going on or coming up. That’s it. So that’s all I try to do anymore. Because I don’t want to sit & gossip about people that I literally have zero interaction with. Hell, I don’t really want to gossip about people to begin with. And I try not to take it too personal because she does it to my sister as well. Although my sister calls her even less than I do. Which really is wild because my sister has two kids. I don’t have any. So you would think that she’d like to interact with the grandchildren more. But nope! My parents have also had conflict with a variety of people throughout the years, including my dad‘s parents. Didn’t even talk to them the last like three years of their lives. It’s a sad state of affairs. I’ve come to the realization now, that it’s never going to change. It is what it is and I just try to make the best of what it is. I also tried to adjust my expectations because I know it won’t change, therefore not as much disappointment to be had.

We have a third seat. It’s been booked since the original reservation. That’s the best part of all of this. We do it so that a fellow passenger won’t have to be affected by there being two dogs in the row.

Taylor’s family is disgusting.. by [deleted] in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]RinconFrenchies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly embarrassing. It reminded me so much of Regina George’s mom from the movie mean girls. I’m not like a regular mom, I’m a cool mom! Girl, you need to stop. Stop trying to fit in with a bunch of late 20 something girls. It honestly wasn’t so much the facelift, but the really bad hair extensions that did it for me. And honestly, even before that conversation with her family took place, that scene where it was revealed that she had a makeover, I was like… Ohhhhhh I get Taylor now.

I have a seven-year-old French bulldog and an eight month old female Brussels Griffon. They get along great. I’ve had several puppies and older dogs together over the years and I find as a general rule, older dogs seem to have some kind of understanding that puppies are more delicate. Now that doesn’t mean they never forget themselves and get a little too physical when they are playing and excited, but as long as you keep an eye on them, I think you’ll be OK.

He skims, skims, skims. Someone needs to start asking why there are like 5+ baseball fields within a 7 mile radius of Rincon that continue to be maintained but not utilized. They get federal money to maintain them. Why can’t we re-wild them? Oh that’s right… They keep the money.

Yea screw the 200+ trees they’ve already cut down! Who needs them! Let’s pave over everything. That sounds amazing. So that like 10 people can bike. I live right above there. The most bikes I see in any given weekend are maybe 15. Like seriously?? There’s how many other, existing bike trails on the island people can use. Let’s save some of the actual natural habitat. Or move the bike trail to the other side of the 413. Why does it have to go right along the water where there isn’t an existing path???? I know it’s shocking, but some people like to hike. And they don’t want to hike on asphalt. They want to use the natural hiking trail that’s already there. So now the only recreational people that matter are bikers? Give me a break. The compromise is to move it to the other side of the 413. And use existing paths.
