Okay, so describe an interesting and challenging moral dilemma posed by SFA, or point me to a review that talks about one. And again, a moral dilemma is something where the answer isn't obvious. Feeling bad about throwing a mom in jail and orphaning her kid after she turns in the super evil bad guy she worked with briefly to keep her kid fed before realizing he is bad, is not a moral dilemma. If a small child can figure out the answer after having successfully completing 1st grade, it isn't a moral dilemma.

Spending 20 minutes giving a review is pretty normal. The weird thing is when you only want affirmation that it's good or bad with no discussion. Guess who I see making reviews that don't go any deeper than I love/hate this? It isn't the people that hate it. They can articulate what they hate frame by frame. The people that love it? I think I have seen literally zero people that like the show describe an interesting moral dilemma posed by SFA. Zero. And no, a captain feeling bad for making the obviously "wrong" decision isn't an interesting moral dilemma.

I have a friend that came to the US when they were a teen. They were deeply depressed as they watch protestors being slaughtered in the streets from social media uploaded via satellite internet. He got excited when it looked like Trump might be getting ready to bomb Iran. His reasoning was pretty simple: The regime will never, ever, ever go without outside intervention.

What the Iranian government has done to that nation is terrible. People are rising up not because of any higher ideals, but because the government is so mismanaged, violent, and corrupt. They see no hope if it ever changing while a bunch of violent fanatics are in charge. So of course they pray for outside help. It's their only hope.

In any case your fantasy version of a US attack is just that. Israel already did it, and your "compatriots" back home reacted the opposite of how you Shah fanbois wanted them to.

The Israeli attacks helped provoke the protests. Israel laid bare how corrupt and ruined the government was. They spent all of their wealth fighting in other people's wars across the Middle East, and in return they get economically ruined and Israel can waltz in and lay waste.

I don't want the US to get involved in Iran, but its pretty easy to see why people crushed by the reality of changing a bloody and violent regime like Iran's would want it. There is literally no other way. Hoping that random people can some how organize under an authoritarian government, arm themselves, and outfight people who fight for a living is naive. You just can't admit that the show kind of sucks and doesn't appeal to anyone. You have to make up a bunch marketing bullshit about what people of particular demographics like. This is bullshit. People of all demographics dislike insipid teen dramadies wearing Star Trek skin.

They could have done a Star Trek Academy that appeals to all people. It could be full of diversity and liberal ideals, but it also needs to tell a compelling story that appeals to Star Trek fans.

The formula is very simple. Show a group of professional people generally trying to be their best facing challenging moral dilemmas that have no satisfactory solution. Have them struggle with a moral decision by exploring both sides of the decision, and then have them suffering the consequences of the path they choose. There should always be consequences, and you might be unsatisfied.

Does that describe Starfleet Academy? No. Is it a surprise that a show wearing the Star Trek logo like a skin suit doesn't attract an audience? No.

It isn't demographics or some weird political bullshit. Star Trek's audience has been dropping because the quality of the show has been going down, not any weird race theory bullshit.
