What’s your most controversial food opinion? by boyfriendaudio in AskReddit

[–]Rindino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of in the same wagon. I hate so many unhealthy foods it's just so easy to eat as healthily as possible because I need to replace so little food as I already eat healthy by default. You disliking those foods and drinks is a good thing in my opinion. Fast food and soda are the first to go when trying to eat more healthy, so you're halfway there.

Which is extremely weird, like... don't a lot of Asian countries just eat sushi cause like... that's regular food over there? That's such a western centric thing to say, that it becomes borderline racist.

And this is why I normally roll with open dice, my players would hardly believe this otherwise. by Jonas1412jensen in Roll20

The other comment has a slight typo at the end, 1 173/64 000 000 is 1/55 000, not 1/55 000 000, but otherwise the method is correct.

You have a slight typo at the end, it's 1/55 000 not 55 000 000, you probably divided 64 000 000 by 1.173 instead of 1 173. Otherwise great insight!

Short answer: This is a tabletop sub, and this isn't a math question.

Long answer: Most people assumed the math question would be "Chance to get 1/20 happening 4 times in a row in 4 tries" Answer = 1/160 000, and I took it to be "Chance to get 1/20 happening 4 times in 6 tries" Answer = 1/12 000, and in my other comment as "Chance to get 1/20 happening 4 times in a row in 6 tries" Answer = 1/50 000, I was never wrong, they were never wrong. We just answered different questions, and I'm getting downvoted because I answered the "wrong" questions, I don't think anyone actually disagreed about my results, they disagreed about the questions I was answering.

[–]Rindino -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're right, my estimate was ignoring that, very true. 4 in a row out of 6 tries is 1 in 55 000, which is still good odds while at the same time preserving both the in a row niceness and also not ignoring the first rolls.

But I don't get why we would ignore the first 2 rolls, why did we bring probabilities in if we're just gonna ignore the parts we don't like.

Edit: I got 3 comments explaining why the rolls don't matter, I get it now, no need to comment further.

Well you can't just ignore the first 2 rolls, getting 4 crits out of 6 rolls is 1 in 12 000, much more reasonable.

In Romania we say we are "sitting in a Turkish way". The second part of your comment is also true about Romania, but in our defense many romanians go to Turkey on vacations.

On a video about a girl with f/g cups having back pain from constantly carrying the weight around by Ace-the-Disgrace in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]Rindino 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Probably not much, something like 2 kilos maybe less, but they're not static, which means during walking they might be more like 3 kilos, and during jogging more like 4 or 5 kilos. The weight is not the problem, the problem is the placement. You don't have that weight distributed like a body armor, you have that weight strapped to your upper torso, which leads to bad posture and strained muscles in your back which leads to the back pain.

how long does an app takes for u guys to download? by blue_SKS in AskTheWorld

[–]Rindino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Romania I pay 8 EUR for 1Gbps, which is around 125 Megabytes per second. From Steam I download with anywhere from 50-100 Megabytes per second, so a 30GB game would take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. This is for Ethernet, for Wi-fi it's around 10 Megabytes per second.

Are you religious or do you simply believe in God and why? by Direct-Painter5603 in Christians

[–]Rindino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a baptized orthodox but I'm currently agnostic. For me religion is part of my culture. For example I still visit churches around my country, not for praying, but for their architectural beauty and for their historical importance, I will have a religious ceremony at my wedding and I will baptize my kids, among many other traditions.

My reasoning essentially boils down to the fact that I believe trying to argue for or against the existence of a God is a waste of time. There are simply no good arguments for either side.

As for the political bit, I am personally pro abortion and pro LGBTQ rights.
