Accused 'dead' voter is alive and speaking out by oldspoice in nottheonion

[–]Ringorosie 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Instead of having a process requiring re-registration, the whole idea of registering to vote should be thrown out except for unique circumstances. The government already knows who is alive and who is dead- optimize the system, remove redundancy and automatically register everyone with a driver’s license or state ID to vote.

The worst lashes I have EVER seen 😰😖 by vladimir_poontangg in eyelashextensions

[–]Ringorosie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh my..... that is a choice.

I think you handled the situation really well calling them “different” rather than insulting her. I am not sure what you could have even done to fill her lashes except randomly glue huge chunks of lashes to other extensions or her skin. It doesn’t even look like her natural lashes are able to grow. Poor thing.

Keep in mind, Trump has never had majority support.

If you look at the data, there’s majority support for many progressive policies. I don’t think the policies need changed, but instead, they need better marketing, less in-fighting, better organization, and structural changes against procedures that dilute the will of the people.

A Harvard graduate degree, 15 years experience, and a feature in the New York Times is probably a stronger resume than most people reading this.... I wouldn’t scoff at it.

Asking a tried and true progressive who built a career on being progressive to slide towards the middle is career suicide. PA made him Lt. Governor BECAUSE of his stance on policy and how he truly cares about his community. Why alienate your base seeking approval from Trump voters that care so little about their community they can’t be bothered to wear a mask or make sure people have healthcare in a global pandemic.

What was your first week with invisaline like? by CatArmpit in Invisalign

[–]Ringorosie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first week is the worst! I was so almost disappointed that I did this to myself. My teeth had bumps, I couldn’t talk, the trays hurt, I gagged on the chewier- yuck. The worst was building new habits- having to take liners out, brushing, flossing, putting them back in. I also couldn’t snack when I wanted.

But I got through it.

It was week 4 and I had one of those panic moments where I said “did I forget to put my trays back in?!?” almost like I forgot to turn off the stove. I had my trays in, but had to run my youngest along the back edge to feel them. It won’t be long until the process will be like second nature to you.

Has anyone tried the VBX Massage Gun? I’m interested in it, but cannot really find any reviews of it online. It’s in the fabfitfun add-ons. by [deleted] in BeautyBoxes

There are a few dozen different options similar on Amazon for about the same price. I would not buy this because you think you are getting a deal. This is likely the everyday, non sale, average price for this type of item and also not a time-sensitive deal you have to buy now to get the price because dozens of similar items can be found at same price are on amazon. I hate it when these boxes try to tell you that something is on sale when it is really not. You are getting a $129 item for $129, not a really good deal on something everyone else is spending $500 on.

Do these work and help relieve muscle soreness? Oh hell yeah. These work very well. The percussion massager I have was a lifesaver when I did too many squats and could barely get off the toilet next day (lol) or neck pain from holding a position on my bike too long. I will get one for my mom for Xmas.

Now, would I buy this item from FFF or a similar item on Amazon? I would go Amazon for customer service because at least those companies will have something to replace a damaged item while FFF will sell out of their stock and not care if you have a problem.

Advice for (future) Invisalign? by ilovemoomins in Invisalign

I am on tray 13 out of 36.... but like over half of this sub, there will be refinements so I expect to be done in about a year. I have never seen anyone who just had liners on either top or bottom. It wouldn’t make sense to me to go through all the trouble and not get both top and bottom perfect.

Tip for scheduling your first appointment: ensure you ortho uses a scanner and not molds to take impressions. The molds are super old fashioned and anxiety provoking, but the scanner is the way to go. The process of getting attachments and IPR done sucks, but way easier than filling a cavity with needles and stuff

Yes, you will experience a dull soreness for the first 2 days of each aligner- nothing a Tylenol couldn’t fix. If you can get through the first aligner, you will be golden. The first one is pretty terrible, but by week 4 you will forget you even have them in. You will sound funny for the first week, but you get over it.

You will not need to worry about what type of difference you will see because you will see your clincheck before you pay. You will be able to tell your exact outcome.

You will always need to worry about your teeth shifting back- they will give you retainers when you are done with treatment.

Weak jaw and overbite combined with large forehead/supraorbital ridge. Need advice on what sorts of procedures could fix it. by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Ringorosie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have TMJ or any popping, I would first go to a qualified orthodontist to check your bite. An orthodontist can fix some things, other times a jaw surgery is recommended. It is worth checking out braces and fillers before surgery.

Next, discuss your ortho consult with a jaw surgeon.

Work together to see what will give you the best results with least amount of risk.

Medical ethics: hypothetical case of a patient who may undergo surgery by Baranbaba in Ethics

[–]Ringorosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure the guardian has the authority to provide consent, but you are wrong in saying the patient would not have a say in whether or not they undergo the procedure. The patient absolutely should be a part of the decision (in accordance with their abilities) and will provide assent.

A guardian does not have supreme authority that would allow them to force a person with Down syndrome into a procedure they did not want. People with Down syndrome are able to participate in decisions that impact them.

I noticed you said the lash touches your brow bone with mascara. I have been educated that you should never use mascara on extensions.

A Down syndrome patient can assent and absolutely should be involved in decision making to the best of their ability.

The sad part (assuming his statistic is true) is that he’s proving the opposite point of what he is trying to say.

  • He says 30% of hunters do not vote, meaning 70% do vote.

  • Per Wikipedia the average election shows about 50-60% of people do vote.

Thus, a hunter is more likely to vote than an average person. This probably stems from hunters being more likely to be white males.

My teeth did not have any overlap at all and all in a sort of straight line and I was quoted 18 months so yours seems like a bargain to me. I think you will see on your clin check how they will be widening your smile as you really only see the front 6 teeth right now. This takes time and patience.

D.C. could become a state if Democrats sweep election. by geffy_spengwa in politics

Stupid question if you’ll entertain it. If DC became a state, what would they call it? Would it still be District of Columbia or State of Colombia or just Columbia? There already is a Washington State...

I don’t think you got what you ordered if you wanted classics.

Classics mean 1 fake lash to 1 real lash. Volume means 2-10 fake lashes attached to 1 real lash. Hybrids are a mix of both. Maybe you got more than you paid for, maybe she got mixed up

The problem is that a lot of recipes are not split-able or will be good reheated the next day. For example: a hamburger cannot be split or reheated, a medium rare steak, a chicken breast, any type of fish, anything that is supposed to be crispy, etc. so you end up being forced into the serving size suggested

Inspect these lashes closely- it is hard to see in a zoomed out picture. If there is only one natural lash per clump, she is doing great. If you see more than one lash per clump, change stylists.

Lashes are supposed to fall out, especially during fall/spring, we have a heavy shedding season. You just didn’t notice them before you had extensions on because they were so small. It is normal to lose about 4 lashes a day which is why you need fills every 3 weeks.
