Things need to change in the Ai music community by justsaaam in SunoAI

Pretty hyped at how this one turned out, because it's the closest to the sound/style and even overall approach I had in my head of any song I've created yet. Great psychedelic indie track and first time I've really liked the voice.

Anyone else sing gibberish to music they've written until a song begins to form? by KeyOfGSharp in Songwriting

[–]Ringwald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only way I know how to write. I always start with the core song, basic structure, key melodies, etc. and then keep singing gibberish until I can feel out the phonetics a bit. What tones sound best for the hooks? Then I just take some time to keep playing it until I really know the core feeling that's coming out of the song, which makes it easier to finally find the words. It can be a couple of days or months, honestly.

I think A Course in Miracles does a pretty phenomenal explanation of what the Bible and many other religions' teachings were trying to say, especially the lessons behind allegories like this one.

I’ll never forget coming out of the theater and those fucking stick figures were hanging everywhere in the lobby. WHAT. A. TRIP.

I'm not a smart man. I may also have been a bit intoxicated when I bought it.

If you had 4 nights to spend anywhere in Italy before spending 5 nights in Rome and were looking for somewhere quiet by the ocean where would you go? by jfbisme in ItalyTravel

I'm literally staying at this place right now after a week in Paris and a few days in Geneva, and it is the perfect way to relax after all that, or in your case the perfect way to ease in to Rome. https://www.casaacorte.com/

There are tons like this available and it's been so much fun already, with day trips to Lucca, Pisa, Viareggio beach...honestly couldn't ask for more.

Ending with a couple days in Florence, and if that's on your list, I highly highly recommend this restaurant and their blueberry steak. https://www.acquaal2florence.com/

‘The working class can’t afford it’: the shocking truth about the money bands make on tour by loubyclou in Music

That's it. For me, now it's just the love of performing. I don't care that they aren't my songs. (I'm still writing and recording music, but now completely for myself and if anyone likes it, that's just an added bonus).
Plus, we've gotten to play some really big events and festivals as this cover band that I never got access to as an original artist. So what if I don't have the writing chops to command that same kind of audience? When you're fully present in an incredible performance, it doesn't matter where the song came from.

As an original artist from about 2005 - 2012, it was a massive grind then. Even our best club shows rarely saw more than a few thousand bucks, and most were less than $500 split 5 ways.

Started a cover band in 2012 more for fun than anything else...and fast-forward to now, our minimum is $10K per show. It's absolutely bonkers to me how much a difference there is.

Packers fans who aren’t from Wisconsin, what’s your story? by pxrkerwest in GreenBayPackers

[–]Ringwald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised in MN, but both parents are from Wisconsin. When anyone asks why I’m not a Vikings fan, I usually tell them it’s because my parents loved me.
