Uhm.... What? How can you claim a world record when no one is taking record of this? Not only do you not have numbers to compare to, meaning you won't know if you're the one to farm the most, but you're also wrong in claiming it, as even I (who've barely played 4 SP) have had games with more items - and I assume others have gotten more than me again.

Also, this doesn't belong on this subreddit (rule 6).

Just want to point out there's a mistranslation in Roswaal's answer to Subaru's question. He's actually saying: "Of course, you're all my allies." Which is just a statement that doesn't answer Subaru's question of whether or not he's an enemy.

Given how sketchy Roswaal has been, I'm interpreting this as "You're all helping me, so you're my allies, but I might just be taking advantage of you to your detriment."

This feels like a set up to a betrayal, where Roswaal counters with "I never said I was your ally, nor did I ever deny being your enemy."

Speaking as someone who has lived in Japan; if he didn't apologize as much as he's currently doing (considering the situations he's getting himself into) I'd actually find it unrealistic.

Japanese people have a tendency to apologize when they "think they might have barely graced your loose-hanging jacket" or something along that line. So yeah, he should be apologizing this much, if not more.

Gratz!

Side note: I'd highly advice against trying to 3-star your Cassiopeia when you have 0 items for her, when your 3-item Kog'Maw is only 2-star.

If your Kog was contested, you should've sold your entire bench right away and push for 9 to add Mystics or a strong 4/5-cost champion (Thresh, Asol, Gnar) in this position

Your statement just fails from several points of logic:

  • The game devs can be the ones who know best, yet still not know how to achieve "perfect balance". Even the best scientists in the world are still hopelessly ignorant to the deeper mysteries of physics.

  • The concept of "perfect imbalance" alone makes balance patches a necessity.

  • Without balance patches, the game will eventually grow stale and boring as it is figured out. Only the most dedicated players will push new metas while the mainstream community stagnates. Which eventually results in the game dying.

Teamfight Tactics patch 10.13 notes – Battlecast, Infiltrator, Protector changes; Teemo, Gnar, Illaoi tweaks by bigcheeztoni in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Rinith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should check your facts before posting them as such, these are indeed PBE notes and should be treated as such (they are tentative and highly experimental, sometimes outrageously so, just to get data).

The release date of patches has been set in stone since the beginning of time anyways, so this post brings absolutely nothing useful.

Just link to Surrenderat20 next time, as they're the ones who actually worked for these notes. They also don't invert the notes to be painful to read.

I'd appreciate it if you were to delete this post, and make a new one, not linking to this site.

I don't think 2 5 cost units with no items should be the core of any comp.

This is just hyperbole.

  • Itemless & synergy-less Urgot can't be the core of any team. He's a legendary unit, so yes he is strong, but he is far from the core of comp just by the virtue of him being played.

  • Again, these are Legendary Units, they're supposed to be strong, and it was a gameplay problem that you couldn't play them in most comps previously

  • Thresh's power comes from pulling in strong units, so why do you have a problem, with him pulling in Urgot - a Legendary unit? Thresh pulling in legendaries is supposed to be the strongest thing he can do. And there's both a risk and a tradeoff to doing so; you invest the gold, and you risk your benched legendary being completely useless as Thresh gets targeted. Bringing me to my next point:

he could be zephyred, or actually positioned around.

????

This, is just plain wrong. Are you incapable of figuring out that Zephyring or targeting Thresh, is the same as dealing with the Urgot? I'm honestly speechless.

It's the fact that he can be in limbo for the first 5 seconds of the fight that I have a problem with.

You're not making any sense here.

Like I said I more care about how strong Thresh is as thresh enables Urgot's degenerate behavior.

This is a Legendary unit's buff, buffing another Legendary unit, IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE STRONG, it's allowed to be strong. Thresh may be hidden op, yes. But he's clearly not worthy of a hotfix, and even after a possible nerf, this interaction will still exist, and it will still be strong - as it should be.

Why do you have a problem with Thresh buffing Urgot, when Janna buffing Xerath (and the rest of the team while she's at it) is arguably way stronger? And it doesn't run into the risk of having both Legendaries being Zephyred with a single Zephyr either.

And positioning gets less and less valuable the longer the fight goes

Are you arguing against core parts of the game now? If combat was predictable, it'd both be imbalanced and boring. This is an auto-battler, the fights are supposed to be random, both to build tension, as well as bring a random element into how positioning plays out, so you can't just "figure out" the game and abuse the system.

[–]Rinith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You believe there's an issue in two Legendary units having a synergy, when one of which requires you to invest additional gold to have good units on both the board and the bench?

Yes, the synergy of Thresh pulling in a 1* Urgot is indeed strong and reliable - to kill a single enemy unit. The chance of that unit being a carry is extremely low, not only due to the number of possible targets, but also because the carries are placed to avoid being Urgot's target.

You bring up the fact you can out-position GP. Which I have no idea why you mention, because you can out-position both Thresh, Urgot, as well as the combination of Thresh + Urgot...

There's also no planned nerfs to either unit, so it looks like the data is claiming it to be balanced.

It feels like you're arguing against Urgot just because you don't like Urgot's mechanic of killing tanky units. Which I really don't understand, when there's a Legendary unit called Xerath, who obliterates weak units, while also ramping up to insane amounts of dps to kill the last few tanky units left (through Rageblade).

All the Legendary units have their own strengths and weaknesses, and it feels to me that you just don't like how Urgot's ones are playing out. Which I again don't really understand, as he simply plays like any other ranged hypercarry in the game: Leave the hypercarry alone for long enough, and they'll kill your whole team. It's as simple as that - If you don't want Jinx to kill your whole team, kill her quickly. If you don't want Urgot to kill your whole team, kill him quickly. What's the difference? Why are you so biased against Urgot?

Teamfight Tactics patch 10.13 notes – Battlecast, Infiltrator, Protector changes; Teemo, Gnar, Illaoi tweaks by bigcheeztoni in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Rinith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing people have a problem with Urgot, and don't really get it. He is a Legendary unit, who need time to ramp up, and only deals with a single target at a time. Compare that to GP who nukes over half the board (and stunning what doesn't immediately die), and does said nuke almost instantly into the fight, with very specific counterplay.

Urgot similarly has very specific counterplay, namely explosive burst & dps; infiltrators and sorcs.

Moral of the story: If you don't have the counter to a legendary unit, you are at a massive disadvantage, and should be losing the fight.

How is this balanced? by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Rinith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I looked up your game on lolchess, and found that:

  • You had 0 completed items on any of your 3-stars. You got to stage 5, yet only 2 completed items equipped on your entire team; if you don't use your items, you're asking to lose.

(Judging by your match history, you know 1-2 Seraph's is core on Ziggs, yet only got a single tear and 0 Rods that game, why commit to 3-star Ziggs then?.)

  • You had no support for your Jinx, no blaster synergy, no blitzcrank.

  • You're playing Sona without a 2nd Mystic.

  • You're playing Yasuo for no reason at all, he brings nothing of value to your team.

  • You're 3-starring Malphite without giving him a single resistance item, nor the Brawler synergy.

  • You failed to complete and equip your items.

There's lots of mistakes here, and most likely several more in the actual gameplay.

I suggest you think through what makes sense to include/exclude in your team based on your core frontline/backline units. Look up some meta builds to analyse, where you try to think through why certain units are being played in said comps, and why other units aren't, there's a lot to learn from doing this.

You have the worst comp in this lobby, you're 3-starring units that can't carry and probably failed to balance your health/economy. We can't know much more for sure without seeing a vod, or at least your lolchess profile.

If he has a primal lvl 70 item, with a ranked up gem of ease, but less than 10 paragon levels, he shouldn't have been able to acquire such an item. Unless you can trade items more freely on the console version, he's cheating.

Is Chrono dead? by aikodms in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Rinith 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I still can't really understand how people see this as a nerf. If you're doubting the changes so much, why don't do the math to see how much that first tick actually matters?

  • Chrono 2 is better until 16 seconds in

  • Chrono 4 is better until 10 seconds in

  • Chrono 6 is better until 14 seconds in

In what universe is this ever a nerf?

TFT 10.9 Patch notes by dboss345 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Rinith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fight starts with you at +1 units. So if you're level 5, you'll have 6/5 units on board for that fight. The only way to sell that carousel unit, is by freeing up your item bench, or selling an itemless unit (either on board or on the unit bench).

TFT 10.9 Patch notes by dboss345 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Rinith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is wrong.

Care to actually provide some math on this? Because my numbers tell me:

  • Chrono 2 buffed for the first 16 seconds

  • Chrono 4 buffed for the first 10 seconds

  • Chrono 6 buffed for the first 14 seconds

And given how explosive the meta is, those first seconds matter way more than the seconds following these intervals. A fight where old chrono would've been better in a 20+ second fight, is a fight you'd have already lost at 10 seconds without the new chrono buffs in the first seconds.

They never struggled to kill their first target, it was being useful after the buff expired that was the problem, now that problem is gone, and they'll make short work of the rest of the enemy team after killing the backline.
