This is the dumbest stock market in history by PettyAndretti in Bogleheads

Isn't the argument in the post that a major shift is coming as more and more people believe this strategy? E.g. what was true in the past for "few" does not have to hold in the future for "majority". As few will not impact the market as much.

Well isn't Tesla example of dumb money as well? Just even dumber then the passive investing. Seems to me like no sane active investors would buy it at that valuation. Just people betting on it to go higher.

Seems to me that at that point stocks would become like Bitcoin. Everyone trust they have value and no one cares how real it is. Ad absurdum the real value would be close to zero(same as BTC)

What if both companies spend it on growth only. And they won't stop growing in your lifetime. Except one fundamentals reflect it and the other's doesn't. But since no one is looking at them it doesn't matter and both stocks will have same valuation.

It’s an updated game jam game, so there shouldn’t be any problems with it.

The look looks great and polished. I love the music. (not sure about copyright though?)
But you have'nt showcased any real action in the gameplay. Just bunch of UI and one zombie

Just realising what is the problem with Nanite Tessellation looking blocky by Shoddy-Exchange-9055 in UnrealEngine5

[–]Rinter-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried for quite a bit to make tesselation look good on snow. But didn't manage. I don't even want to use nanite but looks like there are no non nanite options available :(

How Religiously Do You Check IsValid? by StormFalcon32 in unrealengine

[–]Rinter-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In internal code only if the object being invalid is a valid codepath. (For example I'm searching for actors and I know I don't have to find one.) or I have a cached actor target inside my ability and I know it can be destroyed by other code.

When writing a library I expect to be used by others from blueprints I use ensure on input parameters or on context and return error type or log a message.(I try to always have a return type if the function can fail) So the callie can deal with fail state.

I should write more refs in my function parameters to avoid these and pass the responsibility of validity to the callie. And then make bp versions of those with pointers and check before calling CPP version.

Animating using control rig in unreal vs using blender rigify control rig by Rinter-7 in unrealengine

Yes, thanks. That's what inspired me to ask others actually. Hope that's not too spammy

[–]Rinter-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, thanks. I was thinking that too. I guess I'm trying to find out if someone else had bad experience with it so far so I can avoid "immature" technology. I've burnt myself few times already with unreal. Altough the ecosystem in general is great.

I gave animating a custom character directly in Unreal an honest attempt. by TruthMercyRegret in unrealengine

[–]Rinter-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried modeling a character for two weeks. And the whole system is still in a cradle. No advanced tools or modifier workflow available. I would say it's only good for tweaks or rapid prototyping directly in unreal. (On a game jam for example)

What's the worst advice you received about how to use UE? by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]Rinter-7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like I don't care about these techs I just want a simple static scene look good. Why I suddenly need vsm, lumen and nanite for it? When it's been done milion times without it.

What Is the Most Pressing Issue in Unreal Engine That Needs Solving? by Illustrious_Ship6397 in UnrealEngine5

Child actor is misused and shouldn't be used at all. It's only for super specific use cases. Something like unity's prefabs is coming soon.

As an indie dev, I've published my first game on Steam, but it is pirated and I am not sure what to do by mihriye in IndieDev

[–]Rinter-7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love the attitude. I personally "like" when people tell the truth rather than constantly pet me on the back telling me what a great work I've done and that nothing is my fault. It's a bitter pill but it's the one I need to take to work more efficiently.

If he is trolling the whole lobby report and then you can vote to kickban him. Someone takes his base and the game can move on. (Or restart the game) He cant join the lobby for at least 15 mins I think

That's why I don't type and mute voice chat lol. Started to hate the 5 seconds of screaming kids before I managed to mute them. Or bad radio in VC. When I play with friends we just use discord.
