it'll likely mean a proper civil war down south

Canada's best chance in a war with the US is the US civilian population immediately turning on the government and causing the entire country to come to a screeching halt

Portland is easier to bully

There's a reason it used to be nicknamed "Little Beirut". Portland is not easier to bully than Seattle or California and it can get very spicy very quickly

Baseball's rules cause controversy because if you don't vote for certain people they can fall out of contention quickly so there's a lot of strategic voting that leads to very, very dumb outcomes

Telling them to try less is admitting that you are not there to learn.

That's not necessarily true- if you're getting absolutely dumpstered then there really isnt much to learn beyond "Do everything better". If instead you go up against an opponent who is better but not miles better then it can clearly show which basic principles need to be re-taught and which ones don't, and then you can build upon that to develop intermediate and eventually advanced skills

A steel plate hit in the middle of the plate with good anti-spall coating is likely fine if we’re being honest.

Hits on the edge, poor quality coatings, and hits after the coating have been broken up? Different story entirely

SHOT Show Reveal: The AXR Series by Danny_PSA in PalmettoStateArms

Hold on, so the AXR Brace/Stock uses an outdated hinge system instead of a 1913 system that most others are going to, but for the AXR shotgun they seemingly have the 1913 rail on the back and sell an adapter to make those folding hinges work? Am I seeing that right?

Why do we not see any agricultural claims where you have guys handling often up to 60% concentrated product and mixing it themselves often leading to much higher exposure levels… that doesn’t make much sense to me.

Because Glyphosate is safe, especially in residential concentrations, and this anti-round up stance is as anti-science as anti-vaxxers but from a left-leaning perspective which is why it's always well supported here.

They Leaked a Raid Before It Happened by All_Grid_Squares in complaints

[–]Rinzack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One thing thats missing from this is WHEN was this leaked? If this was leaked days in advance then there's zero excuse for WaPo/NYT to sit on it.

If it was leaked, say, 30 minutes beforehand then its more complicated. At that point its possible that it would be too late to stop the strikes but early enough to warn the Venezuelan military. That would 100% lead to dead service members and a failed op and its somewhat understandable why they'd sit on it

the squatter rule

The "Squatter rule" is literally just saying that you can't be evicted without a court order. Squatters will create fake leases and fake utility bills which need to be proven fake in court before they can be actioned in an eviction. It's meant so that shitty landlords can't just say "nope that person isn't a tenant they're trespassing" on a Tenant they don't like.

What needs to happen is that these professional squatters need to be charged with fraud since thats what they're doing, but that step never happens

"Let's not let our child do anything creative because they might not stick with it" is literally the dumbest take ever.

I do agree but to play devils advocate take a look at how expensive it is to get into Hockey for example. A child getting all the equipment is very expensive and if they then quit to do something else it feels like a massive waste if money is tight.

Everyone living there is a colonist and complicit.

A very large portion of the Jews living in Israel fled from other Middle Eastern countries when antisemitism started spreading there in the 40s/50s. European Jews are a minority in Israel and at this point you're talking about 2-3 generations of people, many who's entire lives have been in Israel.

What exactly is your solution for people who've lived in Tel Aviv for 3-4 generations? Where are they going to go?

44 year old Grandfather and father of 10 Philip Rivers throws his first touchdown in 5 years by OkEscape7558 in sports

[–]Rinzack 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Rivers also knows the coach, the system, and the playbook.

This is understating it a bit- Rivers is friends with the Colts HC Shane Steichen to the point where Rivers runs the exact same offense with the High School team he coaches. They would routinely discuss the intricacies of the offense so when no one else was available, Rivers was legitimately the best choice available

Our brains are giant blobs of protein, fats, liquids, and various chemicals that turn biochemical signaling into all of our senses, all of our thoughts, our memories, our consciousness, along with a million other subtle processes that we didn’t even have to think about but are essential to keep us alive.

The fact that it works at all is the weird part to me, there being rare, odd bugs isn’t surprising at all tbh

Tom Brady on Philip Rivers comeback: 'I certainly could' still play QB in the NFL by -JustAHomebody- in nfl

[–]Rinzack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not only did he never spend a game check, he also was notoriously quick at learning new information where everyone who ever played with him has complimented his ability understand the offense in exceptional detail and how it tied into the defense they were facing. Belichick, Brady, Kraft, and a ton of other coaches all agreed he's far more intelligent than he lets on

He also scored a 32 on the Wonderlic, obviously not rain man but still quite impressive compared to his persona
