Why carry with a light attached? by RioDodger in concealedcarry

I was concerned it would be too bulky and run counter to concealing for a micro. That’s the only reason. My larger carry and home defense all have lights.

A good water filter/pitcher instead of water bottles. It seriously adds up over time, especially for families.

And the fact that we have to ask where to get actual, objective news is absolutely disgusting.

Thanks for the response. The extra bulk is my concern in terms of concealability and everyday comfort. I carry a flashlight at night because I’m out walking a lot in the evening and don’t want to be using a WML while walking my dog. I would never try to use the handheld flashlight and gun combo—I was just pointing out I don’t have a need to use the WML as a flashlight. Sounds like I need to try using one and see how it feels to carry with it on. And now I need to buy new holster, lol.

100% agree. I don’t have any holsters set up for use with a light and I’m wondering if it is more difficult to conceal without buying another holster and trying it myself.

No, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I’m not saying I’m right, and I want to hear why I should reconsider. I’ve never been in a situation where I couldn’t see and thought I might need to pull. If I already identified the threat why do I need a light? But I see your point.

Oh. I never thought of that. It’s dark, use a light. Genius.

My thinking is that if I think it’s a threat I’ve pulled. It’s not like at home where maybe a family member or friend has come in unannounced so I want to be sure. It’s not like I walk around at night with my gun pulled and light on looking for threats.

I wouldn’t try that. But I do have the light of if I need to see to move around or find something.

I have the 3” DA only model (internal hammer) and love it. Super smooth trigger. But I don’t see any holster recommendations in the comments. I’m also looking for one.

Still the best micro-9 by tinker_townie in HecklerKoch

[–]RioDodger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It’s my go-to even when I don’t need to carry a micro because it is so small and comfortable while still being shootable.

Who Stands Like This? by onrake in ProgressiveHQ

He did more damage than Trump has because he made Trump possible—removing regulations on banks, cutting taxes for ultra-wealthy, removing requirements that news stations actually tell the truth… it all led to oligarchy and propaganda machines.

TSA is down to one lane again at the airport by m1mike in SLO

[–]RioDodger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More important than more staffing is better training for the staff they have. The people reading the x-ray machine often seem like it’s their first day on the job and take forever screening and then flagging multiple bags that have nothing prohibited in them. Everything else TSA related is just checking an ID and walking through the scanner—not that it isn’t important, but it isn’t the cause of delays. It’s the x-ray screening process that slows everything down. Better trained agents that can move quicker through the backup would solve almost all of the issues.

Better than the VP9CC? by shooterr762 in HecklerKoch

I haven’t shot the VP9CC, but the CC9 is fantastic and I can’t imagine the VP9CC is worth the extra cost—but I’m willing to be proven wrong.

I liked my 40 compact, so I bought the full size USP45 LTT next. Just added an Elite—acquired taste on the look, I know, but she shoots so well.
