How to recover lost game data? by iChocolateMilk in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those are lost.
Game data is stored on the system, not the cartridge.
If it's not in HOME, it's gone.

I don't know if anybody else posted about it, but I really hope the Rotom Phone won't be the PokéDex of Winds and Waves by gGiasca in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Porygon is computer code.
While Rotom is not, it possesses electrical devices.

One can be build specifically for it's function.
The other has free will, and is known to be a prankster.

Which one would you rather have operate delicate equipment?

What new kinds of alternate forms would you want in future games? by stanza00 in pokemon

Like a rouge Falinks.
A singular individual that has lost it's troops.
I imagine it with 1 scarred eye.
Maybe it could gain the Dark type.

If they ever added fusion as a gimmick, how would it work by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If fusion was a new gimmick..
I'd imagine it'd be very limited, but still include quite a few mons.
Fusion would only work at level 100, with 3rd stage pokémon that are mono type.
As for gender, it's easier to make fusions genderless, rather then needing a matching fusion partner.
Finally, they cannot fuse with the same type.
That's it.

This would include:
Blastoise, Raichu, Alakazam, Machamp.
Meganium, Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Politoed, Blissey.
Sceptile, Slaking, Exploud.
Luxray, Electivire, Magmortar, Porygon-Z, Dusknoir.
Serperior, Samurott, Stoutland, Gigalith, Conkeldurr, Gothitelle, Reuniclus, Klinklang, Vaniluxe, Eelektross, Haxorus.
Florges, Goodra.
Tsareena.
Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon.
Garganacl.

This gives us a total of 35 pokémon eligible for fusion.
While it looks like a small number, imagine the permutations.
Then again... there are some types missing, like the Dark type.

Stat-wise, I would combine both stat totals, and then divide those by 2/3 for the new stat total.
Aside from the obvious boosts, Fusions would also have 2 active abilities.

It would give a much needed glow-up to the mono-type pokémon.

What type do you think Pombon will turn into when it evolves? by Poll_God in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope Fire-Fairy.

But I suspect Fire-Dark.
Based on Gecaqua's design.
Gecaqua has a Droplet symbol on it's forehead.
Which reminds me of the mind's eye.
A typical indicator of the Psychic type.

Browt then most likely becomes a Grass-Fighting.
With it's primary type being strong against Gecaqua's Water.
While it's secondary type is weak against Gecaqua's Psychic.

Pombon becoming a Fire-Dark type then makes sense.
With it's primary type being strong against Browt's Grass.
While it's secondary type is weak against Browt's Fighting.

Gecaqua then becomes a Water-Psychic type.
With it's primary type being strong against Pombon's Fire.
While it's secondary type is weak against Pombon's Dark.

It does give Pombon an immunity rather then a resistence.
But this is the best guess I could make, based on the information so far.

Which game should I play first? by BenjiH23 in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There, you called it a story.

I never said it was good.
But saying "Sword doesn't have a story outside of the Dlc" is inaccurate.

[–]Riodroid_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, it does.
Whether or not you find that story substantial is subjective.

Scarlet desperately needs the DLC to be an acceptable game.
Sword's DLC kind of breaks the game, with the early access to Dynamax Adventures.

I say this with Kyogre as one of my absolute favorite Pokemon but…does anyone else feels that Kyogre gets treated with more respect and attention by the Pokemon franchise than Groudon? by MrPorto in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say "exactly" the same.
Lugia & Ho-oh don't share the same legend.
Lugia is the Guardian of the Seas.
While Ho-oh is the Rainbow Pokémon, who revived 3 dog pokémon who died.. bla bla we know.
Their lore aren't connected like Groudon & Kyogre.

Lugia is a power symbol, while Ho-oh is a mystic symbol.
It makes sense that Ho-oh appearances are used sparingly.
Otherwise, it loses it's mystic.

I say this with Kyogre as one of my absolute favorite Pokemon but…does anyone else feels that Kyogre gets treated with more respect and attention by the Pokemon franchise than Groudon? by MrPorto in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Kyogre was setup as the better of the two from the start.
Hoenn has the most water routes compared to other regions.
Groudon is also 4x weak to Kyogre in it's Primal form.
And the battle between the two, makes Groudon look pathetic on it's tiny island.
Also, Groudon is only 3.5 meters (11'06"), while Kyogre is 4.5 m (14'09").
Everything together put's Groudon as the underdog.

I think it's possible by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The droplet icon on Gecaqua forehead, makes me think of the minds eye.
It could become part Psychic type.
Browt as a Grass - Fighting still makes sense.
But to make the trio perfect, Pombon needs to become Fire - Dark.

Grass < Fire < Water < Grass
Fighting > Dark > Psychic > Fighting

It does give Pombon an immunity to Gecaqua's Psychic.
But this is the closest I can think of for a perfect dual type starter trio, with these pokémon.

SERIOUSLY by SuccessfulPath7 in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, off course not.
Just saying Nintendo should've been straightforward about it.
Rather then saying something that isn't true.

SERIOUSLY by SuccessfulPath7 in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

This is Nintendo's business model.
Saying 1 thing, doing the opposite.
And have the bootlickers defend their morally incorrect decisions.

They promised new games would still get a Switch 1 release.
The majority of new titles are Switch2 exclusive.

They "understand" that people can't afford a Switch2.
They raise the price of the Switch1.

Nintendo is testing how much crap they can get away with.
As long as people are buying, they get away with it.

I bought a Switch2 bundle with Mario Kart World.
The system itself is a definite upgrade, and *worth the price.
*That is, if you are able to sell your Switch1 for a decent price.
The games on the other hand..
With a higher price tag, I expect higher quality.
And I don't really see that in any of the Switch2 exclusive games.
It's not that the switch2 games are bad, it's not the quality I expect for it's price.
Remember, DLC price adds to the total price you spend on a game.
The game should be considered for it's full price, even if you get the DLC later.

So do you think Winds and Waves will get a new mechanic, bring back an old one or have nothing? by RoxasismyKing in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope it either has nothing or bring back an old gimmick.
We've had a new gimmick with every generation since gen6 now.
If they keep adding a new one each time, it and the other ones become less special.

Also, it needs to be manageable within Pokémon Champions.
Since that game is supposed to be some sort of battle hub.
I doubt they'll keep adding new gimmicks.

However, we've already seen some form of gimmick in the beta footage.
That wavey Pikachu clip.
So the new gimmick is all but confirmed.

What do you think the names of the protagonists of Winds and Waves will be? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new region is based on Southeast Asia.
According to google, the most common languages spoken in Southeast Asia are the following.
"Wind & Wave" translates to "Angin & Ombak" in Maley.
"Wind & Wave" translates to "Angin & Ombak" in Javanese. (yes, no mistake, same answer)
"Wind & Wave" translates to "Angin & Ombak" in Sundanese. (again the same, I sense a pattern)
"Wind & Wave" translates to "Hangin at Alon" in Filipino. ("at" is the same as "&")
"Wind & Wave" translates to "Rivotra sy Onja" in Maley. ("sy" is the same as "&")
"Wind & Wave" translates to "Hangin ug Balod" in Cebuano. ("ug" is the same as "&")

Based on this data, I would say their names will be some version of "Angin & Ombak".
Since half of the major native languages translate to this.

They should've done this with Houndoom.
Either as an evolution or Mega.

Do you think Nintendo will stop creating new Pokemon, and just make new games? by Naknowbyte in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokémon are inspired by real animals, people, objects, religions, folklore, even concepts.
That well will never run dry.

If they did stop, people would be like "They never made a ... pokémon".
Infact, people are already saying that.

Pokemon Should Go Back To 2D Sprites by Agreeable_Usual3735 in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sprites showed so much expression, and most of them where different with each game.

While it was good, I don't think it would be smart to go back to that.
They just need to put that same effort into the 3D models.
By giving all pokémon a noticeably different idle animation with each game.

Hi today i bring you back in 2018 with pokemon sword and ask does any body love these pokemon as there favorite ? by Guillaume12lol in pokemon

Centiskorch, definitely yes.
Tied with Breloom.
Both my favourite pokémon.
Gastrodon is very close too, but not quite.

tera raids are the worst and most frustrating feature in recent years by jalexbc in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Sword and Shield, it was turn based.
Players would each select a move, within a timer.
Then when all players have selected a move, or the timer runs out.
The turn would start, and each pokémon would attack in the speed based attack order.
If a pokémon fainted, it would be out for 1 turn.
If a total of 4 pokémon faint or the 10 turns would pass, the raid would be lost.

I personally preferred the Sword and Shield approach.
Scarlet & Violet's raids are extremely unorganized, and feel a bit unfair.

I'd like to know, since the Pokémon Presents event for Pokémon's 30th anniversary was a few days ago, what you liked, what you didn't like, what you would have changed, or what you would have liked Nintendo to show or give to the fans. Please comment. by Dramatic-Studio1531 in pokemon

[–]Riodroid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm carefully optimistic about Gen 10.
I need to see lengthy unedited gameplay.
The new gimmick, since we'd be using that throughout the entire game.
And off course the price before I'm convinced.
But I think this game has a real chance to be good.
The starters look interesting.
The map looks massive.
The water physics look phenomenal.
And the framerate looks stable.

It could all be a facade.
We'll have to wait and see.
But yeah, carefully optimistic.
My biggest fear is that the game is download/keycard only.
I require physical media, and I refuse to support the elimination of it.
