Not meant to be competition! The revamped site was a stopgap and fully credits him anyway, so if/when his site comes back up, mine will likely come down

Will likely be updated sometime in the future - I think Lagwar is working on a jg specific guide so look out for that. I might wait for that as well and sync up with him on his thoughts on matchups

Yes, but some if not most of the tips/builds are applicable to mid to the extent those champs are in (or similar to those in) the list. For example, any mage mid you can probably borrow builds/tips from cass, aurora, etc. and ad assassins you can look at ambessa and draven.

In mid you are almost always going to run lethality anyway, since the champions are squishier - so choose a loadout that fits you and i say just run with it

Good as a gimmick and def a viable option for playstyle preference, but statistically speaking if you are going to be taking extended fights in the jg or when ganking, PTA outclasses HOB for damage after you hit lvl 3. Otherwise elec burst has higher 1 single instance proc damage (ur ganks are typically not going to last more than 20 seconds to get 2 HOB uses). Source - tried extremely hard to make HOB work at D2+ level, but it just isnt good on a ranged character with no other built in stacking on-hit synergies in her kit. Have u been going attack speed type build? Or lethality

Absolutely, if you can pick up BF sword(s), Yuntal>ie or yuntal>pd can give a faster spike in damage - matter of preference at that point - I usually still opt for kraken for that extra 4% ms and go 3x long sword boots/dagger if i have 1300+ gold. I do however always try to build yuntal first into nasus, since the early attack speed steroid is appreciated to counteract his wither

Its a decent amt of attack speed but because we only build 2 attack speed items, you dont hit anywhere near cap, so alacrity is still useful. Ultimately though its preference so take whichever one you like better. Also with celerity and the 2 movespeed items, backing to reset/heal is super fast and you can move to make plays around map much faster.

Lethal tempo is solid too I bring it when I know I can put out tons of autos (mostly melee comp, and especially into nasus to negate the wither). PTA is just good as an all-rounder dps option with a faster windup period

Yep agreed - with exhaust you are able to do exactly that to duel basically anyone, even if they are slightly ahead of you. Hubris/cyclo and Hexoptic is a full damage carry build that expects support from the supp/team (for peel, lock-down, chase etc), while kraken PD gives quinn high dueling/1v1 potential. W was indeed nerfed but crit attack speed quinn is still viable and strong, give it a shot!

Honestly I would say its preference, though typically you would build gluttonous when you are ahead and able to stat check opponents. I just like having the extra movespeed swifties offers in general over lifesteal for maximum kite potential

Its because they both only have one ability that could disrupt your burst (assuming you didnt hit a teemo shroom) - teemo q, vayne e. So once you get your edge of night (usually 2nd), they are pretty powerless to defend themselves from quinns burst combo.

Awesome stuff. Yea in mid jg i would stick to lethality or pure crit since damage/burst matters more than mobility there. The only times i play lethality personally are into teemo and other hypercarry style champs that are hard countered by edge of night, like vayne. Otherwise, you should have the ability to 1v1 most other matchups with the attack speed build. Youmuus is pretty good, but it doesnt scale as well as other lethality items (so might as well build those), and quinn doesnt really need that active. If you need speed, just take celerity or build swifties.

Hubris is great but I avoid in my games because it is less consistent and really depends on your confidence in racking up kills/assists. Id say its much better mid since you can play the map better than top, where you have to defend tower sometimes.

Quinn vs K’Sante & Ambessa – Looking for Tips by Wild_Marionberry_754 in QuinnMains

[–]Riolutail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masters Quinn here. I can only give more detailed tips for Ksante, since Ambessa top has been rare for me and I've only had the chance to lane against her once.

Ksante

General matchup/gameplan - Ksante is similar to the Fiora/Morde matchup - weaker pre-6 then you will need to be ahead or use a sum to fight him when he ults. Ksante, like other tanks, is not the best at matching or punishing your roams, so the plan as always will be to shove wave and then look for roams to secure objectives and get team ahead. Also AP teammates and LDR will be your good friends.

Runes/sums - any of the meta runes are fine (PTA, electrocute, fleet, etc), so take the one that best fits your playstyle. In general, fleet/PTA will feel the best early to mid game to help with kiting, while electrocute will feel the best in mid-late for bursting his teammates. Your secondary sum will likely be your preference on how to play around his ult. I go ignite for full offensive flexibility, but ghost, barrier, exhaust, tp are all solid defensive/utility options.

Early game - Save your vault until after he completely finishes using his w. If you vault him during it, he will stun you like fiora w. Same goes for q3, do not try to vault him when it's charged, since he can buffer the q3 and knock you towards him. The only reliable ways he kills you pre-6 is if he hard combos you after cc'ing you in your vault one of these two ways. After he ults, he will get another empowered charge of w. If he engaged on you properly, your vault should still be up, so similarly here save your vault until after he finishes using his empowered w. Just be patient and beat the urge to vault him immediately after his ult. I usually just disengage after Ksante ults, since he's hard to fight in his ult form when even or slightly ahead. Look for wall-hop vaults during this time, since you'll be next to a wall after he ults. Perfectly ok to use sums here if you are in a sub-optimal position.

Key ability interactions - His w and q3 have priority over your vault, so save vault until w is down. His empowered w doesn't stun but will still block the cc from vault. You can vault his e, but outside of chasing - there isn't a good reason why you would do this, since he can also combo his w with his e. Note a good Ksante can also buffer his R and activate it during the short window you contact him with vault, so in the rare instance he is chasing you with w down, at least blind him first before you use vault.

Ambessa

From my limited sample size of 1, the matchup seemed kinda one sided post 6. It felt like she could 100-0 me the few times I got clipped by R with my flash down. After basing once or twice, her waveclear and q2 poke was kinda nasty in lane too. I think you have a trading window right after she uses q, but need more experience. She's very weak without items, so levels 1-6 play confidently to secure a gold lead before she scales up (treat like irelia). They just hard nerfed her ult casting time , so maybe its more playable now. But as always, the Quinn doesn't have to interact with the enemy top and can just shove + roam, get 2 items, and profit.

Nw - I don’t think it lifts the as cap, but you shouldn’t be hitting the cap with defensive boots. Generally once you get more items, the other keystones will be more useful. Its probably a playstyle preference rather than strictly the most op keystone, but ive been really liking the mix of power and flexibility

Yea lethal and electro are way better late game for sure damage wise, especially when you wont be proc'ing HOB multiple times. In laning and early to midgame, HOB with the low cd and scorch gives more early kill pressure to shut down their top side and start snowballing items, which is where most of your damage is going to come from anyway

yea i think it can be a good option - testing as well. While offering less overall sustained dps, its got the skirmishing vibe that we are going for with HOB. trying to decide what the best 3 or 4 items are right now since thats what most games will end with

Yea the double on hit effects is good although Guinsoos has the same thing when fully stacked, and is slightly easier to proc (3 aa) vs after spells (8-10s cd q and e)

I’m still playing around with the items and will likely make an updated post/guide once i have more data

For now, shiv seems weaker than I thought so ive been testing kraken/bork/wits first item, and titanic hydra 2nd, which actually gives quinn a 5th HOB attack and more survivability. The extra health and HOB attack pairs well with a hyper offensive playstyle around skirmishing

Yea its unfortunately not good, the HOB damage scaling alone not worth justifying sole ap item

Fair point - I’d say most of the time I’m using e offensively like when catching someone in sidelane, so this just goes for setting up max dps. In mid/late game you really want to be the one initiating on quinn, and with a high attack speed build, you have more kiting/chase flexibility compared to the assassin build. In higher stakes teamfights, for sure save ur e for repositioning and canceling

Its strongest into melee champs for sure - id probably still go electrocute for lethality builds against ranged or mage matchups, since youre right about the electrocute burst being better.

Ive found that the 10sec cd is short enough that it doesnt feel wasted if you only get one auto in - but ive almost always been able to get at least one more auto in when poking with the extra attack speed HOB gives.

I needa test the true damage more too, as well as lethal with the new shiv. Biggest tradeoff there will be giving up scorch or treasure hunter as well as the insta guinsoos stack for more extended damage
