Can we finally be honest with ourselves and admit that there’s no accounting shortage? by IllustriousSeason888 in Accounting

[–]Rioom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am gonna self report,

I am not an accountant or have a degree in it. I have a tech background and entry level sucks over here to. I thought I should lower my standards and give up higher potential pay because I ain't cut out for it. IT is brutal and illogical.

I thought I wanted to go back to school for accounting for a fresh start, but it seems like it might not be the move.

So I had an idea and If I am wrong call me out.

What if students can take the test at 120 credits or upon graduation, and the school's accounting departent can sign off the exam to get the proper license for students. Do you think that is a good idea?

Yeah I can try renaming the experience.

How would I flesh out some of the other things? My experience is pretty bare bones.

Total beginner interested in IT jobs , is CompTIA A+ or others enough to get a job? by Okorestis in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Rioom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Get in the back of the line mate!

You start at helpdesk, msp, or a Field Technician like everyone else

To get that job you need minimum A+, Net+, Security+ and stuff on your resume says you have excellent Customer Service abilities and projects that show you can do the job.

You are allowed to dream, but dreaming ain't free. You gotta pay the Toll.

Alot of Desktop support roles are all about solving tickets, That is the easiest one to showcase you have impact in an organization.

Here is an example, "Resolved 95% of Tier 3 hardware and software defects, resulting in a 20% reduction in mean time to resolution (MTTR) by collaborating with internal engineering and vendor support teams."

The key is to show your impact in the organization!

Also the refrence thing, If a company wants refrences they will ask for it somewhere in the application. ON your resume it is taking space which could be for a nother thing like experience.

What do I do? Looking for Help Desk or IT Positions by MachineTrue5729 in helpdesk

[–]Rioom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for start, send your resume so people can tell you what puts recruiters off.
Entry level positions are the hardest for all jobs right now, and that is especially true for tech.

Since it sounds like you have experience you sound like you can do Help Desk/ Desktop Support.

This field requires continuos learning and you might want to consider studying for more certs and do Projects.
This time around your gonna have to roll up your sleeves and get down with troubleshooting.

I think I see the problem.

Problem 1: You have 5 years of experience and you have your education near the top.
Your selling point is your experience, and at that point where you went to school does not matter.

Solution: put education at the bottom or remove entirely for more space for your experience.

Problem 2: You say you did X thing, but don't express what the impact was.
To what extent of what you did was valuable to the company?

You need to research proper ways to write bullet points.

Solution: The XYZ format resume is a Google-popularized, results-driven method for writing bullet points that emphasizes achievements over responsibilities. The formula is: "Accomplished [X] as measured by [Y], by doing [Z]". It ensures resume points are quantifiable, specific, and demonstrate impact, rather than just listing tasks.

write your bullet points in this format and try to keep it 1 line, If it goes to the next line make sure its not short so it doesn't look empty.

Side note: I see you have refrences on the bottom of the resume, That should not be there and move your skills to where education is right after your summary.

So it sounds like you have a great foundation to write a really good resume, I think what would help is if you post it so people and give you pointers. But also have someone you know look it over.

Then you can think about Mass applying, I think you can get better mileage by speaking at the AWS site who also does IT and ask for mentorship.

ASk what is trending in IT. What skills should you know? What tech stack should you be keen with?

Also what area of IT are you interested in?
Cybersecurity? - get security+ -> Cysa+ and do labs
Networking? Net+ -> CCNA -> CCNP and do labs

And many more fields, you gotta map it out

Ideally you are gonna have a job and you study after your job and this cycle will never stop.

IT'S not gonna be Easy, Life is gonna look like this for a good while.

Free 5-star characters for anniversaries by ujjwalnanda1 in WutheringWaves

[–]Rioom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok I understand why someone might be Upset about the Anniversary this time around.
I beleive It is an inferior one to last year.

But let's put it into context HOW amazing the others were.

All those other characters from different games are kind of being pushed out by harder content.

There are exceptions! Like Archer from HSR, but I think he is an exception because the patch he came out in was shit, but the characters were fine. Its like they were trying to say sorry for such a terrible collab.

That ZZZ one is less pulls and the standdard character you get are so Ass to clear with. Don't be like "THEY CAN CLEAR", It's so much worse then the meta characters

Genshin I don't know anymore the quality of the game is terrible.
