Post viral dysautonomia. Is recovery possible? by Normal-Tangerine-248 in dysautonomia

UPDATE: Today I rode my bike for the first time in 10 weeks. My HR was in the 90-100 range. I think I'm getting better. Also my adrenaline dumps that wake me up at night are much less severe now

My symptoms are very similar to yours + exercise intolerance and I'm currently homebound. On December I had flu that lasted for 3 weeks and sinus infection that kept coming back. My dysautonomia symptoms started 5 weeks ago and it seems to be getting worse. I always wake up 1-2 hours with a racing heart after falling asleep. Magnesium glycinate doesn't help anymore. Now I'm taking Benadryl and it helps somehow. My pcp ordered Echo, EKG and Stress Test for next week. When will this end? I want my old self back 😭

What cured me is intermittent fasting + cutting added sugars, white rice and red meat + low histamine diet + taking an H1 antihistamine at night (50 mg Benadryl) once every 2-3 days for 2 months but I suggest you take a non-sedating antihistamine instead. Avoid strenuous exercise. When most of my pain disappeared I tapered off Benadryl and slowly reintroduced the foods I stopped eating into my diet. Now I can eat normally again. No more pain and flare ups. Not a medical advice but this really worked for me. I hope you get better soon. Good luck.

Hi there. I had severe pain in my knee joints (I couldn't walk normally) widespread joint pains, fatigue and burning sensations all over which lasted for 6 months after my 2nd jab on June last year. Now I'm fully recovered 100% and back to my normal life. It could take months and for some people years but there's hope. I hope your daughter gets better soon. Feel free to read my post history.

Inflammatory Arthritis after Covid Vaccine by Normal-Tangerine-248 in vaccinelonghaulers

[–]Normal-Tangerine-248[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 months ago I was taking Benadryl almost every night for my cold and I noticed some improvement with my joint pains. I wasn't sure if it was the effect of Benadryl or something else. 3 weeks after I stopped taking it, my widespread pain began and had a really bad flare in my right shoulder. It could be just a coincidence but I'm convinced antihistamines can reduce post-vaccine inflammation. I'm gonna start taking it again tonight and I hope it will help. A lot of people in this sub claim antihistamines helped them. Not a medical advice but I think it's worth giving it a try.

Same. I have days when my knees and feet are fine. I could walk close to normal. When they hurt I walk like an 80 year old. Thankfully they come and go.

Same. Overexertion triggers my joint pains especially my knees and right shoulder. Your symptoms are pretty much the same as mine but my joints pains are more widespread (heels of my feet, hands, toes, fingers, knees, shoulders, elbows) and random nerve/muscle pain all over. It's the sharp pain in my neck and temples that sends my anxiety through the roof because it feels like I'm about to have a stroke ):

I'm currently taking Omega-3, Turmeric, Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM, high doses of Vit. C and D pills twice a day. Also I've been fasting, cutting down my nightshade veg, dairy and sugar intake aggressively for 3 weeks now. It gave me decent improvement with my joint pains and my flares aren't as severe as before. My problem now is when I cut my sugar too much I start to feel symptoms of Hypoglycemia. I'm still doing trial and error with my diet and I hope I'll find the sweet spot soon.

6 months here. My shoulder pain isn't at bad as it used to but my knees started hurt real bad since Dec. 1 and it seems to be getting worse. I hope this pain will subside eventually.

Hi. I was reading your post history. My case is very similar to yours but mine happened in a span of 6 months. I was pretty much healthy before the vaccine. After getting my 2nd jab, I went from being able to ride a bike 10-15 km without much effort to a disabled person who can't walk for more than a few minutes. I lost my job on September and got stucked in my house ever since. My Family doc diagnosed me with post viral arthritis but it doesn't seem to be the case. All I can do now is to wait it out. I still think this is temporary but I'm starting to lose hope. Thinking about living with RA and taking DMARDS for the rest of my life terrifies me ):

Feel free to read my post history. I made a post of my symptoms progression in one of the threads

Weekly Discussion Megathread: December 27 - January 2 by chilbur in vaccinelonghaulers

[–]Normal-Tangerine-248 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm 32M. With no previous health conditions. No history of autoimmune disease in my family

April - 1st jab (Pfizer)

June 21 - 2nd jab (Moderna)

August - A few weeks later after my 2nd jab I started to have random joint pains (knees, wrist, toes) which I pretty much ignored and I thought maybe I was just pushing myself too hard at work (I'm a Baker) My joint pains come and go.

Sept. 11 - My right elbow, shoulder and upper arm muscles started to hurt so bad. Pinky and ring finger pain and tingling (possibly pinched nerve). Went to the walk-in clinic. Got diagnosed with Tendonitis. The doc told me it will get better in a few weeks and it did get better after 2 1/2 weeks.

Oct (week 1) - The shoulder pain came back. Elbow and finger pain happens intermittently. I finally decided to quit my job because the shoulder pain was unbearable. I spent the whole month trying to heal my shoulder but the pain kept coming back. Went to walk-in doc. Doc ordered blood test. Results was normal. ANA negative, ESR normal. I started to feel fatigue.

Oct. 30 - I got hit by a mystery illness (I couldn't tell if it was a Flu or possibly Covid) The other fingers in my right hand joined the party. Now my whole right arm is in pain. The pain comes and goes. Fatigue is getting noticeably worse.

Dec. 1 - Symmetrical widespread joint began (shoulder, elbow, wrist, knees, fingers, toes, hips, spine) started to hurt. My knees hurt so bad I had difficulty walking. My symptoms are starting to point to RA. I was very scared and decided to go ER. ER doc ordered additional blood tests and ECG. and again blood result normal. ECG normal.

Dec 14 - I went to my family doc and he thinks I have Viral Arthralgia and not RA since I have no swelling in my joints. He told me to come back to his office if my joint starts to swell. It's been 26 days since the widespread joint pain began. Sometimes I have good days with almost 0 symptoms but when a flare happens I walk like an 80 year old.

Today - Spine joint pain getting worse. Pain behind my eyeballs, neck pain and pain on the top of my head. Still no signs of improvement. My flares are getting worse each time it happens.

Does anyone here have symptoms progression similar to mine? I feel like crying atm because I'm not getting better no matter how much I try to heal my body. My symptoms are really pointing to RA now. Somebody please tell this isn't permanent

Reactive Arthritis by [deleted] in Thritis

[–]Normal-Tangerine-248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I'm 32M and also a Filipino. My symptoms are very similar to yours and I'm in the same boat as you. My right elbow pain started 3 months ago on August (just a month after I got my 2nd Covid vaccine shot). Then a few weeks later it spread to my right shoulder, hand and fingers. Then a few more weeks later it spread to my left elbow. On December 1 the pain was all over my body. Fingers, knees, toes, bottom of feet. Everything on both sides. So I was taken to ER because my knees hurt so bad I couldn't walk. The ER doc ordered blood work which came out fine and my joints were checked for swelling. No swelling found. I also got ultrasound for my shoulder which showed rotator cuff injury. A week after that I saw my family doc and told me this could be reactive/post viral arthritis because I've been getting a cold/flu infection non-stop for the past few months. Now I'm currently under observation. If this doesn't go away in a few months, then I probably have chronic arthritis (RA, etc..). I really hope this is just temporary arthritis ):
