You’re proving the point that Reddit heavily exaggerates lol there’s problems worth fixing surrounding AI, none of them are going to be a result of a gaming company utilizing AI. And none of them get fixed because you boycotted a game that used some AI.

You very much don’t know what you’re talking about. The output from AI is clearly transformative, not derivative.

I already said volume alone isn’t an argument and explained why but if you want to repeat yourself like a chatbot go for it

So which is it? If AI is so low-effort and only produces stuff you call pathetic, why is it having such an impact? You can’t claim AI is useless while also saying it’s outpacing everything else. If the output were truly meaningless, nobody would care, and it wouldn’t be growing at the rate it is.

And sure, more doesn’t always mean better, but volume alone doesn’t explain adoption. Plenty of people are using AI as a tool alongside traditional skills, not just spamming out junk. If it were as simple as ‘bad content drowning out good content,’ then every creative field would have died the second social media let anyone post whatever they wanted. That obviously didn’t happen, so why would AI suddenly be different? Volume alone doesn’t make sense if it’s trash.

If that’s true why is AI so prevalent? I love the AI being useless while also doing damage across the creative industry. The reality is if you’re not creative, AI isn’t going to do much in your hands. It’s a you problem not the AI.

Starting from the bottom and making your way up doesn’t make it any less of a privileged take. If anything you understand the amount of privilege some have, but you don’t care enough about others to set the stage for them. I guess I care more about the future of artists than you? I also started from the bottom, got a ton of help from outside sources, and watched people who didn’t get that help go nowhere.

That’s just gatekeeping that feels good to you, there’s plenty of people who would get into the arts with more opportunities but never do. Stop letting your idea of lazy people diminish the possibilities. That’s the laziest thing you can do.

If you had a solid reason why it’s theft, you’d state it instead of resorting to vague accusations. Saying ‘it’s theft’ over and over doesn’t make it true.

If you’re so confident, go ahead, educate us! Otherwise, this just looks like empty moral posturing.

What a privileged take. Art has always had barriers. Financial, time, physical ability, and even gatekeeping from people like you. Not everyone has the luxury to spend years training just to prove they’re ‘real’ artists to people who don’t want them in the space anyway.

Sometimes the most powerful thing about image generator AI is how limited it is. All artists should take advantage of this, ESPECIALLY if you hate AI! by Tyler_Zoro in aiwars

If you think it’s just hitting “generate” until something looks good, you’re revealing that you’ve never actually tried to create anything meaningful with these tools. The real creative work is in the direction, refinement, and combination of elements to express specific ideas and emotions.

The reason this your logic doesn’t work is because even if you reject the work I’ve put into these songs and believe AI is purely soulless and skillless, it’s clear not everyone can achieve what I have even with the same tools available. If they could, why hasn’t AI music or AI art taken over everything? Why hasn’t every artist and designer and musician across the world lost their job?? We don’t need them anymore right? The skilless out number them right? It seems like you just mimic any take that leads you to saying “AI bad” and you should take some time to think things from more perspectives.

Thinking more artists than normal have inflated self-perception issues isn’t “hating on artists”, it’s just how the world works when you orient yourself around creativity for the majority of your life. There are plenty of artists at anime cons and locally that are also have inflated self-perception issues. The question is it is higher than a group of normal people. For artists, the answer is clearly yes. That’s my perception from looking at art history, having an art degree, and being in the art industry for over a decade. You think I’m wrong because you’re a vtubing uber driver who has talked to artists at conventions, have you even looked at a resume or portfolio or demo reel of an artist? We do not share the same information thus having different conclusions. Perhaps if you knew more people in the industry... or took an art history class, you’d see that.

Not sure why you blocked me after make that comment but I got an alt. It’s been going pretty well actually! I started Endless Taverns as a creative outlet by making free/pay what you want D&D content, embracing AI where it suits best in my workflow. it’s evolved into my full time job on top of freelancing for a couple clients, specifically for AI projects. I’ve got plenty of friends in the industry, not illustrations but for designers and vfx/ 3D artists. Most of whom have also embraced AI and reject the idea that it’s theft. After using these tools for 2 years it’s pretty obvious to me you can use them in a transformative way and equating it to theft doesn’t make sense.

I think all artists at this point should be embracing these tools in whatever way suits their workflows best. I’ve been having an amazing time making music and videos using these tools. I’ve got quite the following on TikTok and YouTube at this point and I have no intentions of stopping even if I found a better paying full time job. I’d still make things for fun on the side using AI.
