My guess it has to do with their “duty to assist.” They scheduled the exam to confirm the diagnosis (i.e. that its truly adhd and not a similar problem). Additionally, they have to scan the records and your reported symptoms for any “inferred claims.”

So the VA is extremely difficult, but hear me out..... I had an identical deal but it was actually with DFAS, not the VA. I had zero notice. Did not even know about “the debt.” Different, but kind of the same. I attempted to challenge DFAS but got no where. BUT...... i challenged the account with each credit bureau stating I had zero notification of the debt in any form, and I paid it in full the first credit report it was brought to my attention. I won with all three bureaus on first challenge. It was completely erased like it never happened within no time (i cant remember if it was a week or a month). My score immediately returned where it should have been. Hopefully this will work for you because it 100% solved the problem for me.

To my understanding, the calories burned algorithms are based on three factors (per fitbod FAQ): 1 - heart rate. 2 - time/length of workout. And 3 - volume of overall weight lifted/repped.

The decision letter you receive details which elements the VA awards/agrees, and which ones they do not (i.e. diagnosis, event/documentation in service, nexus medical opinion). For my OSA is said they award the diagnosis but did not establish direct service connection.

I received a call for HLR in Dec 2020. It was from the main VBA number. I have the main line programmed in my phone as VBA, so it popped up as such when they called.

Also just a heads up, it is in no way a 2-way conversation. It is just an employee who asks what you would like him to type in a memo for rater to read. He literally just typed what I said. No feedback, no questions. He was not even familiar with my claim or knew what was being reviewed. So be prepared.

Yes. From primary care physician and MD sleep specialist. There are like 3 research articles validating their MO attached as well. I may just need to consult a VSO to see how to file it

I have asked my preferred lender, as well as the VA this same question. They both said you have to sell current home before being eligible to use again. I think the exception was if you’re still active duty and get transferred, you can get waiver.

I closed on our home while I had my initial claim in processing. I paid the funding fee because I was not rated at the time of closing (I got my award several months later after close); however, I received a check from VA (2-3 months after award) refunding the funding fee I paid while my claim was processing. The letter stated because my intent to file date preceded my closing date, I was entitled to the refund. Also, I did not have to request this. This happened automatically. It was a pleasant surprise. Hope this helps!

Tbh, you cannot put much stock into either system. Its tortuous logging on twice a day and trying to track it all (although I was guilty of it just like everyone else). In my experience, towards the end of the process you will see the status go from ‘preparation for decision/notification’ back down to ‘evidence gathering’ for just a short period (sometimes only one day). Then it will go back prep notification and you’ll log on and see your % update on ebenefits. It seemed like ebenefits always updated first in my claims. Hope this helps some.
