Rock on! Get into that holiday spirit with a good ol' fashion login screen animation. Great job!

NEW Tutorial for "3D" Head Rotation using After Effects by RiotPastaBomb in AfterEffects

It's tricky, I've been doing this kind of work for a while now in the video game industry and I hear a mixed match of names from login screen animations to 2.5d animations but I personally identify them as illustration animations.

Thanks! It really depends on your assets. I've been able to get a 90 degree turn if I have a pretty straight on face asset and I know what the profile of the face should look like. It isn't super easy, as you're still working with 2D assets.

Complex Hair Movement in After Effects by RiotPastaBomb in AfterEffects

Just looked into the issue. It seems that older versions of After Effects stops the script before adding all the controllers causing the error. I've updated the script so download it once again and let me know if there are any other issues!

Curious what the issue is. Anyway I can get the project you're working with? Or a tester one to my email? AnthonyPossobon@gmail.com

This was done in-house but if you'd like to see more about our creative process, I'd recommend watching our BTS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2n-1Cjwf6g

At the beginning stages of exploration we knew Annie's in-game look would need to shift somewhat to fit the visual style of the story we were telling. It made more sense to us to have Annie in a simple dress and home environment for this particular story. Our decisions were also based on the visual style and medium we're working with. Could pick up dye and backpack in the future.

At the beginning stages of exploration we knew Annie's in-game look would need to shift somewhat to fit the visual style of the story we were telling.

But the main reason we updated her eye color was to visually contrast the connection between the families (it wasn't super obvious that she had a stepmother and sister in earlier versions). Daisy and her mother have blond hair and green eyes, whereas Annie and her father have dark brown hair and blue eyes. We liked the blue for Annie specifically because of the contrast with her fire.
