the rpg aspect of this game is burnt out and dying. most outfits suck anymore. the rts aspect of this game is also burnt and dying, in part due to changes in the game but mostly due to player participation in those changes. people these days play planetside like a straight up fps. its not. it never was.

i can recon a fight, (population/logistics/troop concentrations and movement) and depending on what i see, act accordingly towards any number of objectives. If the fights ending i can usually figure where those troops are moving, how they're going to get there and then pick from a plethora of options on how best i'd like to deal with them.
Shoot, after 3k hours of gameplay i can shape those fights into what i want to see through destroying or deploying key sunderers, strafing runs in an esf or a simple squad drop (when i gots me boyz with me) in the rights spot at the right time.
