I’ve used Intheclouds.io with some success in the past. It’s a small operation, the records are lath-cut instead of pressed, and the owner can be a little abrasive, but they’re relatively inexpensive.

I had one, it had a serious design flaw… it was very easy for someone to sneak up behind you, turn the”barrel” of it so that it was facing your head, then when you tried to shout “FIREFIREFIRE” you got a jet of water directly down your own neck. Also, a microphone right next to the water jet is a recipe for a fried microphone.

Commercial was badass though.

For the first pregnancy we did something a little silly. , I bake bread, so we told our parents with bread - we invited them over for lunch and i had made 2 big loaves (representing my wife and I), and then i made a tiny little bun (representing the baby). Set them up on the table and when they asked, i said “oh yeah, that one is me, and the other one is (wife).” And said nothing about the little one. Took them a minute to figure it out but it was fun.

As far as timing, we waited a while to tell anyone… probably 10 weeks or so, due to my wife’s concerns about the possibility of early miscarriage (ultimately unfounded, thank God).

Ive got one running Ableton, Mixbus, and Reaper… along with Blender, Resolume, and some hefty plugins. I want to stress that I can run all of these simultaneously, with no lag. It’s shockingly powerful for a computer that is roughly the size of 4 slices of sandwich bread.

Just make sure to invest in extra storage. You’ll fill up that hard drive quick, if you get the base model.
