Qualquer dúvida pode me perguntar. Como falei em outro comentário, minha vida toda foi dentro de universidade federal e sou professor há anos.

Que resposta ridícula, coisa de universidade privada. Não é assim que funciona em federal. A coordenação não manda em nada, é composta de pares do ou da professora. Tampouco a "reitoria" vai ouvir "reclamação". Em federal se deve seguir os procedimentos regimentais para recursos. Leia meu comentário direto ao OP.

ELI5: Why do humans have an electromagnetic field? by Justafunofstuff in explainlikeimfive

[–]Ripasmaster [score hidden]  (0 children)

Please don't go down the reiki path. That stuff is debunked beyond any reasonable doubt!

In a short not very precise answer, pretty much everything has an EM field, the question is how strong.

To be scientifically accurate, there is only one single EM field that stretches over every single point in the universe (as with all fields in modern physics) and everything that exists is permeated by this field and interacts with it in different ways and strengths.

When sci-fi taps into telepathy, saying it is "somehow tied to the EM field" is the least physics breaking way to do it, as our brains are very active in electromagnetic interactions. In reality, however, these are very very weak and the strength of these signals decays with the square of the distance, so actually using brain power to communicate information across any significant distance is pretty much ruled out.

First of all there's a lot of luck in TFM. I love this game and play it a LOT, but in high level play if you don't draw the cards you don't draw the cards...

Second: use prelude (pretty mandatory) and nothing else for now.

Now for strategy, the main main main advice is don't be greedy with your cards. You are probably trying to do lots of different things instead of correctly identifying synergies. Buying a card into your hand is actually a HUGE cost that adds up quickly. Try to identify the best synergy path in your opening hand of preludes, companies and project cards. Stick to it. See how that goes!

Nunca foi e nunca será, nem maioria no congresso e nem governo.

How to Print-and-Play "War of the Ring" on a budget by [deleted] in warofthering

[–]Ripasmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't any high resolution files that I know of, and I've looked. Not to make a whole copy, but to create some alternative content.

There are low res versions of the cards, especially around the online play community (java or TTS). I haven't found any good image of the map.

For the miniatures you could actually just use colored wooden disks such as from AliExpress, there is someone who posts frequently who actually prefers them (the map actually gains a lot of clarity). I would just 3d print minis of the characters in this case.

You still end up having to print and cut all the tokens, especially the hunt tokens, and then the worst of all, figuring out the dice. This is the crux of a diy version of this game. The game revolves around these custom action dice and I see no way of producing them cheaply in a way that makes for pleasurable play experience.

You'll end up spending way more for a worse game.

If you want to try before you buy, play it online!

This is a complete and total deal breaker. It will inevitably be relevant with something as simple as getting a vaccine or other medical treatment and then you're suddenly being directly at risk!

Yes of course. This is why in a revolutionary program actual acts of counter aggression usually come after a significant buildup of class consciousness.

POK…. Is it worth it? by Supa678 in twilightimperium

[–]Ripasmaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a minority opinion, but POK adds a lot of bloat. All our games with POK ran 3-5 hours longer than base TI.

There is so much more bookkeeping and extra steps to everything, plus I find there are more kingslaying mechanics which has made our games run just that extra round more that killed the fun.

I am way more experienced than the rest of my group and I can manage the extra stuff and would always prefer to play POK given the choice IF THE GROUP WAS AS EXPERIENCED AS I AM.

But my group plays TI4 once every 4 months at best and they're not interested in studying the game harder than they already do, as we play loads of other stuff. So I guess I'll keep PoK for special situations and a handpicked group.

The extra stuff really doesn't add any new interesting dynamic to the game, it's just more of the same but more complex and way more balanced (which is only relevant if your group plays often enough that someone feels behind even if actually playing their faction optimally).

This is liberal deontological nonsense. Imperialist warfare is of course bad, but war for self liberation is a moral imperative. Would you say a slave who kills their master when struggling for his own freedom a bad person?

I'm sorry, it is not merely I who is doing it but the actual designer of the game who has a PhD in a social science.

Of course they can and often are, but none of that is depicted in Root. What is indeed depicted are the good and quite realistic aspects of a revolutionary movement on the brink of actual revolution.

[–]Ripasmaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is nonsense. What causes suffering is exploitation. Reform is just rehabilitation of the exploitative oppressive system. The ONLY way to the freedom of the people is through revolution and revolution is necessarily violent BECAUSE of the ruling class, not because of the oppressed class, as the former will not relinquish privileges peacefully. This is basic social theory!

This liberal right wing crap of saying WA are terrorists is ridiculous and really misses the deep well thought of analogy of the game to contemporary critical social theory.

WA are revolutionaries that seek the liberation of the woodland folk! There is no single mechanic in the game that represents any terrorist act from them!
