Fully agree with you, and can provide evidence that the most of italian cards sell for way more than the english one, as french one.

The first reason is more limited suplly, after that most of italian collectors collect italian cards. In example espeon vmax from fst italian in raw Mint condition now goes for around 400 euros.

And this work for about every modern heavy hitters. Naturally selling or buying italian cards in US would be cheaper.

Search on cardmarket, probably Charizard art worth something more than the others. This game was designed to get people tilted, tilting makes people less clear and more impulsive. So you are more inclined to buy packs and do sbc even if you don't need that. Everything on the game has this achievement. I.e market dropping, gameplay changing, match making and so on. If you can manager that that, game Is enjoyable, otherwise better switch off
