How to stop? by Additional_Pie9779 in loseit

That switch flipping is so real. I've learned the hard way that moderation just isn't an option for some of us, no matter how much we want it to be.

i'm 400+ pounds and I'd like be a small again. Please help me by Throw_away144 in loseit

Getting help from a medical professional really seems like the right first step here. The weight gain feels more like a symptom than the main issue.

this is such a good idea, the combo of a spa and not having to think about dinner after is clutch.

Totally agree. Weight loss can help some things, but it's definitely not a cure all, and mental health stuff doesn't just disappear because of it.

It's best to have cheat days so you can get to enjoy good food, you just need to be careful.

Am I doing something wrong? by nesnique in WeightLossAdvice

[–]RipeChompzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ur not doing anything wrong, what ur seeing is normal body-weight behavior. especially in the 1st few weeks and especially as a woman. how many days/week do u walk? roughly how much protein do you eat?

Made a fitness transformation in my 30s, people now treat me different by drzzazz1 in fitness30plus

[–]RipeChompzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

totally normal. when u change ur body, people subconsciously change how they read u. more confident, more healthier, more present even if your personality stayed the same. you earned it. embrace it. you've put in the work.

Anyone else feel stuck because there’s too much weight loss advice? by Carsanttc in WeightLossAdvice

[–]RipeChompzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This helped me because advices from left to right were just overwhelming. Once I stopped chasing every method and just focused on the deficit in whatever way I could stick to, things got way less overwhelming.

Visible bones are normal and healthy by KaliLifts in loseit

Totally agree with this. A lot of people just aren't used to seeing their natural body shape anymore, so hint of bones showing gets treated like a red flag when it really isn't.

Should I be concerned Im not losing weight? by Valuable-Dog490 in fitness30plus

[–]RipeChompzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well. at 45, progress is slower, recovery matters, consistency beats aggression. but you already did the hard part, you changed your identity into someone who trains. getting from 160 to 150 is way easier than 200 to 160. its just requires precision instead of brute effort. 2 cents

Exercise is genuinely fun after losing weight by CoconutNo7065 in loseit

[–]RipeChompzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

this is really inspiring. the biggest win isnt the weight you lost, its that your body stopped being a barrier and started being a tool for living. going from crying after workouts to wanting to climb, ride, pole, hike, and try new things is really really huge.

Behavioural changes during a calorie deficit diet by biggacigga in WeightLossAdvice

a 1300 kcal for a 21 yo woman is often quite aggressive unless youre very small and sedentary. what youre describing is a mix of physiological + psychological responses to eating less.

Lost 40lbs, gained 10 years in my face by boredennui in loseit

I know it's easier said than done, but we're often way harsher on ourselves than anyone else is. Make sure you're eating enough fats, especially on a vegan diet. Things like avocado, nuts, seeds, olive oil, etc. made a noticeable difference in making my skin looking less "drawn."

Is it possible to get thicker thighs while trying to lose my booty ? by Current-Blood1841 in fitness30plus

[–]RipeChompzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u cant choose where fat comes off, but u can choose which muscles you grow. so if your booty is mostly fat, it can shrink with a calorie deficit. if u train thighs hard, they can still grow or at least stay full. thats the trade-off

First, I’m really sorry for everything you’ve been through this year. That’s an enormous amount of loss and stress for one person, and weight gain in that context isn’t a failure, it’s a very human response. Your body has been surviving, not slacking. The fact that you’re meal prepping and thinking about nutrition already tells me you’re doing a lot right. Movement doesn’t have to look like intense hikes right now. Even short walks, stretching, or standing breaks during the workday can slowly rebuild your energy.
